Do you want to work with a team of experienced tax professionals who truly love what they do? Brighton Jones is looking for winter tax interns to join the team to make an immediate impact!
This is more than just an internship; our program allows students to work alongside our tax team to gain hands-on experience preparing tax returns for our high-net-worth clients, along with other challenging and meaningful projects. Our interns will gain a strong understanding of our tax practice, which consists of managing the tax compliance process for our clients’ individual income tax, trust, and gift tax returns.

Your Role:
- Assist with the process of collecting data and preparing it for electronic work papers.
- Input tax data into appropriate software systems.
- Produce electronic work papers for next-level review in conformance with department standards.
- Assists team members with various tasks as needed.
Program Details:
- Program dates are February 3rd – April 4th, 2025.
- Availability to work Monday – Friday, 15 hours a week minimum. We are flexible with scheduling to accommodate your schedule.
- This is an in-person internship in our Belltown office.
- This is a temporary, non-exempt/hourly position.
Qualifications:
- Eligibility includes current university students. Rising seniors are preferred.
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics preferred.
- Academic success and other internships or work-related experience encouraged.
- Undergraduate exposure to tax accounting is a plus, though not required.
Skills & Attributes We Look For:
- Strong desire to pursue the CPA designation.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software systems (CCH Axcess & Checkpoint, Pfx Scan)
- A commitment to excellence and a drive to maintain high standards in all tasks.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, both written and verbal, to build trust and confidence with colleagues.
- Excellent work habits, featuring a self-starter mentality that proactively manages workloads and takes ownership of prioritizing tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates teamwork mentality.
- Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.

What to Expect in the Hiring Process
1. Values in Action Self-Assessment - At Brighton Jones we don’t just talk about our values, we live by them! We’ve operationalized our values into observable behaviors and part of the application process includes completing a brief self-assessment on our Values in Action.
2. Initial Interview - This 30-min chat with a recruiter or hiring manager gives us a chance to learn about your background and goals and share more about the role and company.
3. Role Alignment - Next you’ll meet with the hiring manager and a peer (virtual or in-person) to dive deeper into the role, responsibilities, and your transferrable experiences.
4. Full Loop - You’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening to examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position.
5. Personal Reference Calls - In this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
