  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing in Body Shop production with maintenance responsibilities, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Automotive Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of pre-series builds, pilot hall operations, and the automotive production process.
  • Hands-on experience with Body Shop tools, jigs, and fixtures in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in managing maintenance teams and coordinating repair activities.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all pre-series “Body” activities.
  • Ensure that vehicles are assembled according to quality standards, design specifications, and production timelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address buildability concerns and implement short- and long-term countermeasures.
  • Develop and maintain detailed control plans for fit, finish, and overall vehicle assembly.
  • Provide input on design feasibility, ensuring that pre-series builds reflect production realities.
  • Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance activities for Body equipment located in the Pilot Hall, including tools, jigs, fixtures, and machinery.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operational for pre-series builds.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality during pre-series builds.
  • Develop and update Body and Maintenance procedures as needed to reflect best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from pre-series to full production.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Body team, providing training on Body Shop techniques, quality standards, and equipment usage.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance and to manage any issues that arise during production.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the Pilot Hall Liaise with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure that Body processes are aligned with vehicle requirements.
  • Work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to address any issues related to parts, tools, processes, or equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation and feedback loops between Pilot Hall operations and other departments.
