- Six months to one year of previous medical experience.
- Review medical records for urgent requests and special needs.
- Support the office clinic under the direction of the Nurse Manager, including rooming patients and gathering patient information for chart documentation.
- Call medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests.
- Provide patient education as instructed.
- Triage inbound clinical care calls, assess patient concerns, and respond according to clinical care protocols.
- Document and use the electronic medical record according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines.
- Follow practice policies and procedures for appointment scheduling, insurance verification, telephone interactions, and other job responsibilities.
- Provide backup support to clinical services as assigned.
- Prior gastroenterology experience.
- Bilingual Spanish language skills.
