Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED and five years of clinical research experience; or two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and three years of clinical research experience; or a practical nursing license and two years of clinical research experience; or a bachelor's degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration-related program and one year of clinical research experience; or a master's degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program.
  • All required clinical training must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher credentialing category.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based research environment while collaborating with the research team.
  • Ability to collect, store, and ship biological specimens.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with study participants and community partners in Glynn County.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and study-related documents, and complete source documents and case report forms.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Interface with research participants, determine eligibility, and obtain informed consent according to protocol.
  • Approve orders for supplies and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in developing recruitment strategies and conduct participant screenings, interviews, and questionnaires.
  • Supervise the collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Establish case packages for study procedures, monitor procedure scheduling and charges, and coordinate other services as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, review case report forms, and audit their accuracy against source documents.
  • Attend monitoring meetings with study sponsors.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee study visits with research participants.
  • Administer questionnaires, collect and manage biological specimens, and maintain required study documentation.
  • Follow applicable safety, ethical, and regulatory requirements and maintain accurate, organized study records.
  • Perform routine data quality checks.
  • Provide updates on field operations to the Research Project Manager and study investigators, identify and resolve issues, and ensure consistent implementation of study protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy or diagnostics when appropriately credentialed and trained.
  • Perform other approved related responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of health research and clinical research projects.
  • Experience working in community-based or clinical human subjects research, or other relevant project management experience.
  • Experience with biological specimen collection, processing, or shipping, including phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Ability to maintain accurate study records and ensure data quality, including required documentation and routine quality-control checks.
