Collins Aerospace launches ARINCDirect OpenAPI to link flight support data across systems

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has launched ARINCDirect OpenAPI, which lets operators feed ARINCDirect flight planning, trip and performance data straight into their existing digital platforms. The company announced the tool in Las Vegas on October 21, 2026. Customers and partners can automatically receive flight plan status, airspace information, trip performance and logbook data without re-keying or reformatting it. Early adopters have built the API into their enterprise tools, which cut manual data entry and sped up updates. "Business aviation flight schedules can shift by the minute," said Nicole White, vice president and general manager of Connected Aviation at Collins Aerospace. The modular design lets customers tailor how the interface connects to their systems.

Collins Aerospace launches Tower MicroELITE surveillance system, with San Bernardino as first airport

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has launched Tower MicroELITE (TME), a digital display system that improves air traffic controllers' awareness of their airspace. San Bernardino Airport is the first to deploy it, to cope with a rapid rise in operations. The airport is a federal contract tower, part of a growing group of private and contract airports with rising traffic but no certified radar displays. TME is built on Collins' FAA-certified Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System. It uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware, so airports of any size can install it, including regional airports, business aviation terminals, and heliports. The system has received Federal Aviation Administration System Design Approval as an Airborne Position Reference Tool. It can be used at eligible FAA Contract Tower airports and privately operated control facilities.

RTX cash flow jumps $1.76B, but receivable sales explain $1.5B of the gain

RTX Corporation's first-half operating cash flow rose to $5.40 billion from about $3.64 billion, but receivable sales explain much of the gain. Increased factoring contributed $1.5 billion, or about 41% of the improvement. Demand for aircraft maintenance and defence is lifting the business. Second-quarter commercial aftermarket sales at its engine unit grew 25%, and adjusted operating profit rose 22%. RTX generated about $4.19 billion in first-half free cash flow. Its annual guidance of $8.50–$8.75 billion requires roughly $4.31–$4.56 billion more in the second half. The shares trade at about 25x forward earnings, against 35x for General Electric. Analysts expect about 15% growth in 2026 adjusted earnings per share, versus about 24% for General Electric.
