  • At least 10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, 8+ years with a master's degree, or 6+ years with a Ph.D.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in GPU, CPU, or advanced semiconductor design verification.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and GPU subsystem design, including block-level and subsystem-level integration.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, Perl, or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM, including constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertions.
  • Experience building configurable UVM testbenches reusable across design hierarchies, with a block-level environment able to transition into a system-level environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving multiple first-pass silicon successes.
  • Experience contributing to verification strategy and execution for multiple subsystem blocks and verification closure across interfaces.
  • Experience identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, and executing implementation.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and influence in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to verification strategy and execution for one or more GPU subsystems by developing verification plans, defining verification goals, coverage metrics, and sign-off criteria aligned with architectural specifications and integration requirements.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain scalable verification testbenches using SystemVerilog, UVM, and C++, developing test code in parallel with RTL and applying constrained-random testing, coverage-driven verification, and assertion-based techniques to validate block and subsystem behaviors.
  • Advance verification methodologies, tools, and automation to improve efficiency and quality, and create targeted, scalable test scenarios that stress interactions across subsystem blocks, interfaces, and data paths.
  • Analyze failures spanning subsystem blocks, identify root causes, and collaborate with design and architecture teams to align verification with architectural intent and system-level integration expectations.
  • Mentor engineers and stay current with emerging verification technologies and methodologies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of memory subsystems or coherent interconnects.
  • Experience with performance-aware verification or performance profiling.
  • Hardware modeling or emulation experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in modern graphics architectures and evolving GPU technologies.

Two thirds of Europeans pick smartphones for aspirations, Samsung survey finds

Samsung research suggests Europeans choose smartphones with future ambitions in mind. In a Censuswide survey of 5,001 adults in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, 66% said they picked their current phone with at least one interest in mind, from gaming to travel and content creation. Everyday frustrations remain. Some 36% say they charge their phone too often, and 27% have avoided mobile banking in public for fear of being seen. For their next phone, 22% rank speed and performance first, while 20% want to do more without a larger screen. Among 25–34-year-olds, 21% would consider a foldable that opens into a small tablet. Samsung's chief marketing officer for Europe, Benjamin Braun, said choice matters because everyone uses a phone differently.

GRAIL gets $110M Samsung investment as new Galleri trial data lifts cancer test case

GRAIL has reported new clinical data for its Galleri multi-cancer early detection test from the NHS-Galleri trial and the PATHFINDER 2 study. The results point to fewer late-stage diagnoses, low false positive rates, and accurate Cancer Signal Origin prediction. The company plans to present further results at the EDCC and ESMO conferences in October 2026. They will cover detection across more than 200 cancers and performance across racial and ethnic groups. Samsung entities also made a $110 million equity investment in GRAIL to support commercialisation in South Korea and other Asian markets. Challenges remain. GRAIL still burns cash, and it needs US Food and Drug Administration decisions and broad payer coverage.

Samsung's preliminary Q3 results miss estimates, memory stocks slide 3%

Memory and data storage stocks declined Thursday after Samsung Electronics' preliminary third-quarter results missed analyst expectations. The world's largest memory chipmaker reported expected sales of 195 trillion Korean won ($145.06 billion) and operating profit of 107.4 trillion won ($79.89 billion), falling short of estimates of 205.26 trillion won in sales and 112.73 trillion won in operating profit. Shares of Sandisk, SK Hynix, and Seagate Technology fell approximately 3%, whilst Micron dropped 2%. Samsung shares lost 2.4% on the South Korean exchange. Analysts warn that elevated expectations may make it harder for memory stocks to impress investors, despite strong growth. Concerns centre on slowing quarter-over-quarter profit growth and potential price impacts from increased supply in coming years. Samsung will report full results on 29 October.

US stock futures fall as AI firms seek $90B+ in debt financing amid rising bond yields

US stock futures fell on Thursday, with Dow Jones futures down 0.5%, S&P 500 futures declining 0.3%, and Nasdaq 100 futures dropping 0.5%. Rising government bond yields weighed on markets, with the US 10-year Treasury yield trading at 5.327% and the 30-year yield reaching its highest level in over two decades. Reports of substantial AI infrastructure financing added to debt market concerns. Broadcom is seeking over $50 billion to fund development of a custom AI chip with OpenAI, whilst Oracle discusses financing for a major chip purchase. Applied Digital reported 322% year-on-year revenue growth to $342 million, exceeding expectations. However, capital spending surged 730% to $2.074 billion, highlighting the capital-intensive nature of AI infrastructure. Samsung Electronics forecast record third-quarter operating profit of approximately $80.1 billion, though shares declined in volatile trading.

Samsung forecasts record $80B Q3 operating profit as AI memory boom drives growth

Samsung Electronics projected record Q3 operating profit of 107.4 trillion won ($80.18 billion), surpassing analyst estimates and marking its fourth consecutive record quarter. The South Korean firm expects revenue to more than double year-over-year to 195 trillion won. The forecast weighed on competitors' shares, with Micron Technology slipping nearly 1% and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing dipping 0.3% in overnight trading. Samsung's stock fell 2.4% in Seoul. TSMC separately reported September sales rose 54.6%, pushing Q3 revenue 50% higher to 1.49 trillion won, beating estimates. The semiconductor business drove Samsung's growth as surging AI infrastructure spending fuels demand for memory chips. Both Samsung and Micron have warned tight memory supply could persist through 2028.
