Requirements
  • Possess operative knowledge of air handlers, air compressors, boilers, chillers, gas delivery systems, and automated control systems.
  • Possess general knowledge of semiconductor facility operations involving utilities, waste processing, and water systems.
  • Have experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller, Distributed Control System, or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition-based control systems.
  • Have experience with instrumentation calibration and control-loop diagnostics.
  • Be able to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Have experience supporting gas delivery and clean dry air systems.
  • Possess operating knowledge of dry-air and inert-gas pipefitting.
  • Have basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Possess mechanical skill and affinity.
  • Be a self-starter able to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Be a United States person, defined as a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident, under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize facility systems within operating parameters, including automated control of water, air, pressure, temperature, and dew point through Programmable Logic Controller, Building Automation System, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust fire, electrical, mechanical, and gas systems using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Programmable Logic Controller, Distributed Control System, and Building Automation System technologies.
  • Perform rounds each shift and record system conditions through direct observation, including compressed dry air, cooling towers, boilers, fire pumps, emergency generators, bulk gases, ultra-pure water, chillers, vacuum, commercial water, commercial power, waste neutralization, and bulk chemical distribution systems.
  • Assist in developing and revising Standard Operating Procedures while supporting control-room monitoring activities.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests.
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, control loops, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters, control valves, variable frequency drives, and gas delivery systems to minimize downtime.
  • Use diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance management systems to finalize maintenance documentation and support predictive maintenance initiatives.
  • Support cleanroom environmental control systems, including clean dry air, high-purity gases, and humidity and temperature control loops.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with instrumentation, including pressure, flow, and temperature transmitters, variable frequency drives, and control valves is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting Building Automation Systems, Programmable Logic Controller, Distributed Control System, or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition control systems in industrial or semiconductor environments is preferred.
  • Four years of experience in a semiconductor facilities environment is preferred.
