Requirements
  • Strong communication skills, including clear writing, concise presentations, and effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in asset management, investment, relevant policy, economic development, valuation, property management, or property advisory, particularly involving retail, leisure, or town centre trends.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to manage detail while articulating the bigger picture.
  • Strong written, numeric, and presentation skills, including comfort with Excel and interpreting net operating income, estimated rental value, footfall, and performance data.
  • The ability to organise and proactively manage workstreams, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • An interest in regeneration and the role town centre assets play in place-making.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification, or commensurate relevant experience, and MRICS or equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Manage urban-centre projects alongside senior and junior staff to provide high-quality client advice.
  • Take the day-to-day lead on asset-management activities and support the strategic lead in delivering asset-management mandates across a varied portfolio of retail-led and community schemes.
  • Develop and deliver strategic business plans, leasing strategies, and asset-management plans.
  • Manage the financial and economic performance of assets, including financial models, dashboards, and reporting templates.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packs, annual reviews, client presentations, business-planning reports, and progress reports for varied audiences.
  • Monitor governance milestones, risks, asset-level key performance indicators, and operational risk registers, ensuring decisions are evidenced and documented.
  • Oversee leasing activity, coordinate with leasing agents, attract and retain target occupiers, regear leases, and curate tenant mixes.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to progress transactions through completion and accurately record lease events and obligations.
  • Manage and direct property managers, centre managers, agents, solicitors, and other wider teams, including running competitive processes where appropriate.
  • Liaise with managing agents regarding estate operations, service-charge performance, statutory compliance, and occupier engagement.
  • Oversee void costs, arrears, health and safety compliance, and operational risks.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance programmes, capital-expenditure priorities, and environmental, social, and governance interventions.
  • Drive operational efficiencies, challenge conventions, and improve asset outcomes and performance.
  • Embed social-value and sustainability commitments into operational activity and long-term asset planning.
  • Use data such as net operating income, estimated rental value, leasing pipeline, footfall, and CACI data to inform asset strategy and benchmark performance.
  • Lead and support tenant and stakeholder engagement so asset-management strategies align with local objectives.
  • Develop market knowledge by monitoring trends, opportunities, threats, and ways to improve places.
  • Support team and firm business-development activities and build market reputation through high-quality work and networking.
  • Provide leadership for formal reporting and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the asset-management methodology and framework.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in asset management, investment, relevant policy, economic development, valuation, property management, or property advisory, particularly involving retail, leisure, or town centre trends.
  • MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Relevant experience in strategic leasing, government, policy, strategic advisory, councils, or economic development.
  • High literacy in retail, leisure, community, and general town centre matters.
