- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program, or equivalent experience, is required.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is required, with Epic preferred.
- The role requires organizational skills, effective multitasking, verbal and written communication, professionalism, and patient confidentiality.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing and undressing, and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
- Review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete electronic medical record intake documentation.
- Prepare surgical orders, schedule laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries.
- Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals, and monitor and respond to physician queues.
- Demonstrate the proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment, including braces and soft goods, when needed.
- One or more years of medical office experience is preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records is preferred.
