- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Operate large format digital printing equipment to produce prints that meet production and quality standards, including ink adhesion, curing, color control, and compatibility with the specified finishing method; ensure prints are free from defects such as streaks, fingerprints, dirt, ink blotches and scratches.
- Use internal database systems to track jobs and record all production specifications related to printer settings, quantities, stock usage and color profiles; fill out appropriate job ticket paperwork accurately.
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance procedures on equipment and troubleshoot equipment problems with advanced knowledge.
- Communicate and comprehend simple instructions to and from other shifts or departments; be aware of overall department workload and assist in other areas during peak times while keeping the press productive.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of RIP programs including color profiles, replacement of spot colors, manual layouts, and general image manipulation including sizing, rotation, and mirroring; perform quality checks prior to ripping jobs to verify size, color profile, resolution, replaced colors, and ensure job is laid out properly on sheet.
- Perform daily maintenance routines on equipment and work area; maintain printheads following detailed cleaning instructions and safety precautions; wipe down outside of printers; remove ink buildup or tape residue from print bed or cleaning stations; dispose of scrap and trash; empty trash cans and dumpsters; maintain a clean and safe working environment by organizing printed and raw materials, sweeping and mopping work area as needed.
- Maintain maintenance log and gain advanced equipment knowledge to troubleshoot equipment related problems.
- Communicate and comprehend simple instructions to and from other shifts or departments; assist in other areas during peak times while keeping presses productive.
