Berenberg launches space sector coverage with Buy ratings on Rocket Lab, AST SpaceMobile, Planet Labs, HawkEye 360

Berenberg has launched coverage of the US and European space sector, initiating four companies with Buy ratings. The bank initiated Rocket Lab with a Buy and an $83 price target, calling it "the only end-to-end public pure-play in space." AST SpaceMobile received the highest target at $92. Analyst Michael Filatov said the company is "the only company to have demonstrated true cellular broadband from space to unmodified smartphones." Planet Labs was initiated with a $25 target, whilst HawkEye 360 received a $24 target. Avio was initiated at Hold with a €33 target. Filatov said falling launch costs have driven the space economy past $500 billion in 2025, with the market on track to exceed $1 trillion by 2030.

Berenberg trims target price on Kenmare Resources.

Berenberg trims target price on Kenmare Resources. Thu, 20th Aug 2026 09:33 (Sharecast News) - Analysts at Berenberg trimmed their target price on Kenmare Resources from 220p to 210p after the miner's first-half numbers came in softer than expected, largely due to weaker ilmenite market conditions. Berenberg said H1 revenues fell to $149m, below its $155m estimate, with softer ilmenite pricing being the main drag, while cost of sales rose to $173m against its $165m forecast, reflecting inventory movements and higher depreciation. Adjusted underlying earnings of $4m also missed Berenberg's $11m estimate. Kenmare also posted an interim operating loss of $26m. Cash costs of $255 per tonne, however, were lower than expected following accounting adjustments for its new zirconium-titanium product and capex of $30m came in below forecasts, but cash from operations of $13m was weaker than anticipated, leaving net debt at $176m at period-end. As expected, Kenmare paid no dividend and has paused future payouts until market conditions improve, which will likely not be anytime before H127. Guidance for FY26 shipments, production, costs and capex was maintained. Berenberg said it expects a stronger second half, helped by improved performance at Wet Concentrator Plants A and B and the planned Q4 commissioning of the second Selective Mining Operation. It added that ongoing negotiations with Mozambique over the extension of the Moma Implementation Agreement remained a key overhang on the shares until resolved. Following model updates, the German bank reiterated its 'hold' rating on the stock, noting the shares trade at 0.55x net asset value and 7.7x 2026E underlying earnings. Former head of Berenberg Bank takes action against regulator BaFin.

Former head of Berenberg Bank takes action against regulator BaFin. The head of the division is leaving the Hamburg private bank. Changes are also taking place in other areas. Here is what is known. Aug. 4, 2026 - 7:45 p.m. Entrance to the Hamburg Berenberg location Photo: imago images/teamwork At the Hamburg private bank Berenberg, whose chiefs were removed by BaFin in June, there are several changes in wealth management, according to information from Bloomberg News. Sven Friske, who heads Berenberg's wealth management in Germany, is leaving the company. A Berenberg spokesman confirmed this when asked by Bloomberg. The regional managers in the business segment are to report directly to Frederik Gottlob, the head of Corporate, Wealth and Asset Management, in the future. According to Berenberg, the step eliminates a management level in wealth management. "With the creation of the central Corporate, Wealth and Asset Management division last year, we set out to make the structures in these areas even more effective for our clients and to further integrate them. We therefore want to further increase responsibility in the regions, i.e. at the locations where our clients are looked after," said Gottlob. In addition, Berenberg has decided to close the wealth management location in Hanover. According to the bank, it did not develop as originally hoped. The head there, Alireza Panah-Pouri, is leaving, it was said. There will also be changes in wealth management in Hamburg. Hannes Roffmann will become the new head there, Berenberg further announced. He succeeds André Nogat, who is also leaving. There is another departure from Berenberg: Dennis Herrmann, who as Senior Relationship Manager at the Hamburg location, will move to Julius Bär. A spokesperson for the Swiss company confirmed this to Bloomberg. At his new employer, he will meet Klaus Naeve, the new chairman of the board of Bank Julius Bär Deutschland. Previously, Naeve had worked for Berenberg for around 18 years.
