Procurement Specialist
About the job
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a production-based logistical or inventory environment.
- Must be able to meet and maintain various certifications, licenses, and/or registrations in accordance with applicable state laws and electronic security regulations in the states worked.
- Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process, including a background investigation and drug screening.
- If applicable, must maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the position’s travel requirements.
- Source, negotiate, and purchase equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies necessary for operations.
- Analyze, manage, and implement actions relating to material requirements to ensure an uninterrupted flow of materials and services for production.
- Schedule material deliveries optimally to support the production schedule.
- Prepare and communicate the twelve-month rolling forecast to critical-material suppliers according to the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations plan.
- Monitor inventory levels to determine whether on-hand material is sufficient to support the production plan and replenish inventory appropriately.
- Process purchase-order requests for raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies.
- Verify the nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
- Coordinate with internal customers and suppliers to ensure timely purchase-order deliveries supporting project deadlines.
- Anticipate and proactively mitigate risks to material procurement commitments.
- Initiate and analyze reports communicating current material-tracking and availability status to key stakeholders.
- Advise management on material availability status and potential problems to ensure equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
- Cultivate effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
