Its flagship hospital treats emergencies and supplies medical, surgical, intensive, maternity and inpatient psychiatric care, supported by diagnostic and rehabilitation services. The network extends into primary and specialty clinics, a cancer center, long-term care and assisted living, and it also operates the parish ambulance service. A seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Parish President governs the service-district hospital, which has been managed by CHRISTUS Health since 1997. The organization is headquartered in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
