A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is required or must be actively pursued.
Four to six years of experience in public accounting at a Big Four or national firm, or consulting, is required; industry experience in a technical accounting role is also considered.
Strong knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements.
Experience with complex technical accounting issues in a client-facing or advisory capacity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-accounting audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day execution of accounting advisory and financial reporting engagements across a portfolio of middle-market and private equity-backed clients.
Prepare and review technical accounting memos, whitepapers, and position papers on revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), and debt/equity classification.
Support clients through audit readiness, restatements, and financial close process improvements.
Assist in designing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day engagement matters.
Coordinate with client finance teams, external auditors, and legal counsel as needed.
Supervise and mentor Senior Associates, providing real-time coaching and feedback.
Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or Dynamics.
