Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree, from an ABET-accredited college or university is required.
- Experience with mechanical design of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning and plumbing building systems on complex projects is required.
- Experience using Autodesk Revit for Building Information Modeling is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Prepare engineering design loads and calculations, mechanical system layouts for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, plumbing, and fire protection, and design documentation for all project phases.
- Coordinate design between engineering disciplines and the architecture team, perform engineering calculations, and oversee drawing production.
- Perform energy analysis and apply high-performance design techniques.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Perform on-site condition surveys.
- Review contractor submittals and requests for information and provide field observations throughout the construction administration process.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with energy modeling and developing associated reports and presentations.
- Experience with IES VE, E-Quest, or Ladybug Tools energy modeling software.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination or Engineer-in-Training registration.
- LEED Accredited Professional credential and previous experience participating in the LEED or another green rating system process.
- WELL Accredited Professional credential.
- Experience and interest in sustainable and high-performance building design involving energy, water, carbon, occupant health and wellness, and resiliency.
- Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
