Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Four years of experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent three-dimensional modeling programs is required.
  • Experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation such as Interface Control Documents, specifications, interface drawings, and engineering reports is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and priorities are required.
  • Experience with radio-frequency communications and/or network system integration is required.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis is required.
  • Proficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile Internet Protocol, and radio-frequency propagation, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts, is required.
  • Understanding of product development and systems architecture design is required.
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users is required.
  • Availability to travel up to 25% of the time is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. security clearance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain expert knowledge of company products to build customer relationships by interpreting and developing customer requirements.
  • Create, modify, and maintain system-level mechanical drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Develop system layouts, interface drawings, installation drawings, and other required engineering drawings.
  • Create, maintain, and update Interface Control Documents defining mechanical, electrical, physical, functional, and/or system interfaces.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and internal and external stakeholders to identify, define, and resolve system interface requirements.
  • Prepare, update, review, and maintain Government Contract Data Requirements Lists and other contractually required engineering documentation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system specifications, requirements documentation, technical reports, design documentation, and engineering analyses.
  • Assist with system architecture, functional decomposition, requirements allocation, and technical baseline development.
  • Integrate company products to meet complex system requirements.
  • Develop and carry out test procedures to determine whether integration outcomes meet requirements.
  • Convey system integration progress to the management team and promptly escalate issues and concerns.
  • Identify short-term and long-term customer issues, provide relevant information and data for deliberations, and recommend options and courses of action.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to troubleshoot customers' integrated system issues and collaborate with product development and test engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop test plans and methodologies, followed by final reports and summaries for internal developers and external customers.
  • Define integration strategies and methods and plan them in accordance with established deadlines and schedules.
  • Create and provide technical documentation explaining upcoming or existing integrations to non-technical individuals.
  • Develop technical portions of responses to Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal, and similar customer requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.100-200 Engineering Drawing Practices is preferred.
  • Experience working on U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs is preferred.
  • Experience preparing or maintaining Government Contract Data Requirements Lists is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD and other government engineering standards and requirements is preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents is preferred.
  • Network+ or Security+ certification is preferred.
  • Experience with radio-frequency mapping and planning tools such as Cloud RF is preferred.
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as Mobile Ad Hoc Networking, mesh, ad hoc protocols, and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in advanced technical software packages such as Wireshark and/or MATLAB is preferred.
  • An active Secret U.S. security clearance is preferred.
