Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience designing complex consumer hardware, including at least one shipped product such as a wearable, audio, mobile, or comparable product.
  • Deep mixed-signal expertise across microcontroller systems, sensor analog front ends, audio digital signal processors, image sensor interfaces, radio-frequency and wireless systems, and battery and charging systems.
  • Strong signal-integrity and power-integrity discipline with hands-on sign-off experience on flex and rigid-flex multi-island designs.
  • Direct experience architecting and validating multi-microcontroller communication buses, including parallel and serial interfaces and inter-processor links.
  • Direct experience driving part selection, bill of materials ownership, and second-source strategy on a shipped product.
  • A track record of leading hardware bring-up and partnering closely with firmware teams on debugging.
  • Experience owning overseas contract-manufacturer relationships and driving design for manufacturability, design for test, and design for assembly from prototype through volume production.
Responsibilities
  • Own the electrical architecture across the platform, including compute partitioning, sensor integration, power, radio frequency, signal integrity, and power integrity.
  • Lead schematic and printed circuit board design for flex and rigid-flex multi-island layouts, and own signal-integrity and power-integrity sign-off across every revision.
  • Architect the power tree, including battery management, multi-rail regulation, USB-C charging, and dynamic power budgeting.
  • Own radio-frequency and wireless electrical design, including antenna diversity, body-proximity tuning, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Low Energy coexistence.
  • Define and validate every communication bus on the platform, including parallel and serial sensor interfaces, audio buses, and inter-microcontroller links.
  • Drive part selection, benchmarking, and bill of materials ownership across microcontrollers, power-management integrated circuits, radio-frequency systems-on-chip, and the full electrical bill of materials, with a second-source strategy.
  • Lead bring-up at the electrical layer, own signal-integrity, power-integrity, power, and bus-level debugging, and unblock firmware and subsystem leads.
  • Drive the design through design-for-manufacturability and qualification gates with contract manufacturers, and ship the product by the end of the year.
  • Build and lead the electrical engineering team as it scales from early test batches to production volumes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with EEG, ECoG, or other biopotential systems, especially high-channel-count or dense sensor arrays.
  • Experience integrating low-power artificial intelligence accelerator silicon into mixed-signal systems.
  • Experience with custom application-specific integrated circuit bring-up, silicon co-design, or in-array readout architectures.
  • Experience with radio-frequency design for body-worn antennas and multi-radio coexistence.
  • Founding engineer or lead-level experience at an early-stage hardware company.

Sabi designs everyday products that are easier to use and more attractive, targeting items people rely on daily such as walking canes, pill boxes, and bathroom hardware. Their approach centers on user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing designs that improve comfort and function. How the products work: they emphasize ergonomic handles, simple mechanisms, reliable materials, and intuitive use—so users can operate items with less effort and more confidence. How Sabi differs from competitors: they prioritize combining practicality with beauty, moving away from plain, uninspired, hard-to-use designs toward objects people actually enjoy using. Their goal is to make daily tools smarter and more delightful to use, so everyday life feels smoother and more enjoyable.
