Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least one year of experience with program management.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning methodology.
  • Experience in an engineering field within a manufacturing environment, preferably with an automotive supplier.
  • Demonstrated cost and financial management experience.
  • Competence with Windows applications, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control and statistical data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of control systems, programmable logic controller programming, and systems integration.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate manufacturing personnel activities to support the manufacture of customer-requested prototypes, engineering changes to existing product lines, and new development products.
  • Develop product and manufacturing technologies and processes that provide high-quality products, excellent customer service, and optimized profitability.
  • Provide leadership for project management and manufacturing activities that produce improvements in how the company manufactures customer products.
  • Function as project manager for assigned projects and originate capital requests and purchase orders.
  • Quote costs and timing for engineering changes and new projects, and track project-related financials.
  • Coordinate and provide recommendations for the design and development of process-line tooling, equipment, work fixtures, and optimal layout of an assigned product line.
  • Provide technical services for developing process-instruction manuals and key training aids for manufacturing in compliance with current quality-system procedures and policies.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process problems, concerns, and issues related to each process line.
  • Support the continuous improvement program by recommending improvements in product quality, reducing scrap, minimizing or eliminating rework, improving labor efficiency, saving materials, and decreasing equipment downtime.
  • Control systems integration and programming.
