Requirements
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • All applicants must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Be accountable for management of your panel of hospitalist patients.
  • Provide care and coordination of community-based care and secondary and tertiary level health care.
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.
  • Provide coverage for 1–2 weeks per 4-week cycle, with availability for hospitalist patients 24/7.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional work opportunities may be available, including extra hospitalist coverage, orphan patient clinic work, emergency department shifts, and locum opportunities in local family medicine practices.
