Responsibilities
Interview clients, obtain and record health histories, perform physical and developmental assessments, order diagnostic tests, diagnose health problems, manage client health care, maintain health records, and suggest referrals when necessary.
Carry out office standard operating procedures and policies consistently while providing patient care.
Treat patients by obtaining their medical histories and reviewing symptoms.
Perform physical examinations and ensure preventive screenings are completed, communicated to patients, and recorded appropriately.
Identify medical and health risk factors and communicate them to patients.
Order appropriate diagnostic tests, identify pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic interventions, and conduct and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
Prescribe pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies, make appropriate referrals, and update records of changes in health status and diagnosis.
Determine the effectiveness of care plans and reassess or modify them as necessary.
Promote a safe environment for patients and interact with professional colleagues through chart review, consultation, and referrals.
Administer twelve-lead electrocardiograms; suture simple and complex lacerations that do not require tendon or ligament repair; perform incision and drainage of abscesses; care for wounds and burns; apply splints; and remove foreign bodies when necessary.
Work with the Medical Director regarding patient diagnoses.
Prescribe, initiate, monitor, modify, discontinue, or order drug therapies within the APRN's scope of practice and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Prescribe medications within the APRN's education, training, clinical competence, and scope of practice.
Prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances when authorized and in compliance with applicable Florida statutes, federal regulations, and DEA requirements.
Review records and treatment plans periodically with collaborating or consulting physicians as required by Florida law and organizational policy.
Work closely with the Assistant Medical Director to maintain clinical guideline compliance.
Complete charting within two working days of each patient encounter and adhere to ProHealth clinical guidelines.
Ensure patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure see a provider and have labs done before receiving refills.
Ensure state medical regulations are maintained and maintain current knowledge by attending educational programs.
Maintain certification in compliance with current state laws.
Provide patient education and submit prescriptions in a timely manner.
Perform other procedures the APRN is educated to perform and implement and maintain OSHA, safety, and healthcare practices and protocols at each branch.
Assist clinical staff with office management when required.
Work Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; hours outside this schedule may be required based on business and patient needs.
Travel periodically to other clinic sites and travel for educational or business purposes when necessary.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned or requested by a manager.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Nurse Practitioner position is responsible for interviewing clients, obtaining and recording health histories, performing physical and developmental assessments, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, diagnosing health problems and managing the health care of clients. Maintains health records and suggest referrals when necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Duties:
Performs physical examinations.

Position Type and Expected Work Hours:
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are 8am to 5pm Monday - Saturday but may require hours outside of these time as business and patient needs dictate.
