Attendance at the specified Sheriff's Office work location is required.
Depending on assignment, possession of a valid Florida Driver License at time of employment may be required; driving history will be reviewed and may be grounds for disqualification.
No visible tattoos on the face, head, or neck; tattoos deemed inconsistent with professional appearance must be covered with an appropriate white, black, or neutral covering.
No illegal drug sale within lifetime; no illegal drug use within the past 36 months; and no marijuana use within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair various types of vehicles and equipment.
Make minor or major repairs to vehicles or equipment, including disassembling, replacing, and/or overhauling mechanical systems.
Operate various types of vehicles as required to complete proper maintenance.
Instruct and assist lower-level mechanics.
Maintain the preventative maintenance program.
Inspect and adjust equipment used in performance of duties.
Perform welding, minor body repairs, and painting as assigned.
Complete maintenance reports and records.
Perform other related duties as required.
Work at various buildings and facilities within a law enforcement agency, including inmate-populated areas.
Work outdoors in a subtropical climate in potentially adverse weather conditions as needed.
Stand or sit at a workstation for prolonged periods, walk long distances, and ascend or descend ladders as needed.
Perform very heavy physical exertion as needed, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials up to 100 pounds.
Travel to various work sites using a Sheriff's Office-issued vehicle to perform essential duties.
Work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Respond promptly to duties and responsibilities assigned by management in the event of an emergency or disaster; assignments may occur before, during, or after the event.
