Future Standard invests in KDC to scale data, energy and advanced manufacturing infrastructure projects

Future Standard, a $94 billion global alternative asset manager, has acquired a minority stake in KDC, an infrastructure development and execution firm. The partnership aims to bridge a gap in the market for projects requiring specialised operating support and capital raising to scale. KDC was co-founded by Future Standard CEO Edwin Conway and the Kamine family. The firm focuses on the "missing middle" of infrastructure investing: projects beyond venture capital scale but too early-stage for traditional infrastructure investors. It targets sectors including data, energy security, advanced manufacturing, and critical minerals. Future Standard has an option to acquire control of KDC in the future. The partnership builds on Future Standard's recent acquisitions of Portfolio Advisors and Post Road Group's digital infrastructure teams, and follows the firm's expansion into Asia and the Middle East.
