Redgate extends database change control to analytics platforms, with visibility to prove what governance returns.

Redgate extends database change control to analytics platforms, with visibility to prove what governance returns. CAMBRIDGE, UK - September 29, 2026 - Today, Redgate Software announced a major expansion of Redgate Flyway Enterprise, extending its advanced database change control capabilities to Databricks and Snowflake. The move enables enterprises to apply a consistent standard of governance across both operational databases and modern analytics platforms. Alongside the expanded platform support, Redgate is launching Flyway Insights, a new dashboard capability that gives technology leaders visibility into database delivery performance across their estate. Flyway Insights tracks industry-standard DORA metrics and quantifies the financial impact of database change control, helping organizations demonstrate the value their governance practices are delivering. "As data estates become more complex, enterprises need a consistent way to govern change across the different platforms they rely on," said Jakub Lamik, CEO of Redgate. "Extending advanced change control to Databricks and Snowflake means teams can apply the same governance standards across more of their data estate. With Flyway Insights, leaders also have the visibility to understand how database delivery is performing and demonstrate the financial value that change control is creating." Redgate's 2026 State of the Database Landscape Report reveals that 47% of organizations find it difficult to accurately measure the ROI from tools they've invested in. The report also found that analytic insights and strategy are often split across four or more teams. These silos prevent leadership from seeing the full financial impact of their investments and leave no single department with a complete picture of the returns. Flyway Insights and the updates to Flyway Enterprise directly address these industry challenges. Flyway Enterprise now brings advanced capabilities including version control, schema comparison, drift detection, policy checks, automated rollback scripts and audit trails to Databricks and Snowflake. This enables teams to apply the same consistent standard of change control across modern analytics platforms and operational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL. The expanded capabilities complement each platform's native tooling, giving teams greater consistency in how schema changes are tracked, reviewed and audited as they move across the data estate. For organizations running analytics and AI workloads on these platforms, this provides greater control over the database changes that underpin those environments. Flyway Insights brings deployment data from across teams into a single dashboard, giving technology leaders a real-time view of database delivery performance across the data estate. It tracks core DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) metrics alongside financial measures that help quantify the impact of database change control, giving organizations clearer evidence of the value generated through Flyway Enterprise. Hamish Watson, Managing Director at Morph iT Limited, a company dedicated to helping purify, mature, and perfect business value based on DevOps philosophies, commented: "One of the great things I've found using Flyway is that the platform can change, but the way we govern database change doesn't have to. Whether we're working with SQL Server, Oracle or Databricks, Flyway gives my company and my clients the same repeatable controls around versioning, drift, auditability and deployment, which makes it much easier to manage change consistently across the whole estate." Public previews of advanced capabilities for Databricks and Snowflake, along with the Flyway Insights dashboard, are available today. Learn more about Flyway Insights.

Redgate introduces purpose-built AI assistant for database development and operations.

Redgate introduces purpose-built AI assistant for database development and operations. Redgate Software, the database DevOps and database management company, announced Redgate Assistant, its purpose-built AI assistant for database professionals. Available from today in Redgate Monitor and SQL Prompt, Redgate Assistant brings context-aware, governed AI directly into the workflows teams use to develop, manage and monitor their databases. This is the latest step towards Redgate's vision to be the leading provider of safe agentic database management. As Redgate continues to advance autonomous operations for database professionals, Redgate Assistant will have new capabilities added and become more deeply embedded across the portfolio. This will help organizations move progressively from AI-assisted database work towards more autonomous database management, while maintaining human oversight and organizational control. "AI is already changing how database professionals work, but organizations need to be confident that greater automation doesn't come at the expense of control," said Graham McMillan, chief technology officer at Redgate. "Database environments are too critical to treat AI as an add-on or a black box. With Redgate Assistant, we're building one AI experience that understands the database environment, fits into the workflows teams already use and becomes more capable over time, while giving organizations control over how they adopt greater automation." Unlike general-purpose AI tools that require users to provide database context manually, Redgate Assistant is purpose-built to handle the complexity of database development and operations. It understands the database environment and task at hand, helping professionals investigate issues, understand unfamiliar databases, improve code and complete routine work faster. Sep 16, 2026 Prev Next 1 of 43,598 Redgate Assistant is designed with enterprise control and governance at its core. It operates within existing database access controls and as a distinct, auditable user, giving organizations visibility into what AI can access and do, while supporting security, compliance and governance requirements. As AI adoption accelerates, database management teams need richer, context-aware solutions that deliver productivity gains without increasing compliance risk. Redgate's 2026 State of the Database Landscape research found that 44% of organizations now use AI for database management, nearly three times the 15% reported a year earlier. Among those using AI, 46% report significant productivity gains and 76% significant cost savings, yet security and privacy remain the leading concerns around adoption, cited by 64% of respondents. Redgate Assistant is being developed across three core areas: * Database-aware assistance: Uses the context of the customer's database environment to provide relevant answers and guidance, without users repeatedly having to explain schemas, objects and database structures. * Connected AI across database workflows: Starting with Redgate Monitor and SQL Prompt, Redgate Assistant will expand across Redgate's portfolio to provide a consistent AI experience across development and operational workflows. * Safe, governed automation: Works within existing database permissions and provides an auditable record of its activity. Redgate is adding Verified Remediation capability to enable the Assistant to investigate an issue, propose a fix and test it against a safe copy of the database before presenting it for human review. Redgate Assistant is available today in Redgate Monitor and SQL Prompt, with additional capabilities and integrations across Redgate's portfolio being introduced over the coming months.

Redgate Monitor's product updates - august 2026.

Redgate Monitor's product updates - august 2026. This month, Redgate Software, Inc wanted to spotlight some of the new cloud features that shipped last month and are enabling teams to keep pace with database estates that increasingly span multiple platforms and providers. Redgate Software, Inc also have updates for Monitor Enterprise users that improve alerting for permission changes. Here's what's new in Monitor: Query-level visibility now reaches Azure and Google Cloud SQL. Users will get the exact query text, duration, CPU time, and reads & writes behind any long-running execution, wherever that instance happens to be hosted. A slow query on Azure or Google Cloud can now be tracked down with the same depth of detail. A smarter, more unified view of Aurora clusters. Aurora PostgreSQL monitoring now brings cluster instances, cluster events, and aggregated query performance into a single unified view (v14.26). Dashboards show one card per cluster, with instance-level detail just a click away inside the 'Overview'. A failover, a spike in wait time, or a shift in query patterns across an Aurora cluster can now be observed in one clean view rather than pieced together across several nodes. Clusters with auto reader monitoring enabled will also identify and start monitoring new reader nodes automatically, so coverage grows with your Aurora estate, no extra configuration required. Full cost visibility for virtual machines, disk-level usage information. The Virtual Machines cost page has moved out of preview and now includes per disk detail for space used, capacity and average IOPS, alongside read, write and total throughput for each disk (v14.24). This gives an even more complete picture of virtual machine estates, right down to the individual disk. That level of detail is exactly what supports confident right sizing decisions and uncovers real savings, rather than guesswork about where cloud spend is going. For a deeper look at applying this kind of data in practice, see its article on cloud database cost optimization with Redgate Monitor. Sharper alerting on permission changes. Alongside this month's cloud feature focus, Redgate Software, Inc also have updates for Monitor Enterprise users that sharpen alerting on permission changes. The new database permission change alert for SQL Server instances with SQL Audit enabled means security and compliance teams learn about a change the moment it happens (v14.24). It fires whenever a permission is granted, revoked, denied, or transferred on a database or its securables. Alongside this, SQL Audit-based permission change tracking has now reached General Availability, providing instant visibility into permission changes across the database estate. In case you missed it: AI tooling now connects directly to Monitor's data. Introduced last month and continuing to take shape, Redgate Assistant and the Monitor MCP Server are now in preview, each offering a different way for AI to work with the information Monitor already holds. Redgate Assistant is Redgate's agentic AI assistant across the wider product portfolio. In Monitor, it brings that insight directly into conversational, AI-assisted diagnosis, putting expert-level answers within immediate reach conveniently in Monitor, next to the data you're already working with, right when a question or an incident demands it." For teams who want their own AI tools connected to Monitor, the Monitor MCP Server (v14.20) links your AI assistant or agent directly to that information, so it can be reasoned over wherever your team already works. When AI tooling can draw directly on the performance history, query behavior and alerting context Monitor already holds, issues get triaged faster and resolved sooner, letting teams focus more of their attention on higher value, strategic work. Redgate Software, Inc look forward to sharing more on its AI features in the months ahead. Redgate Software, Inc ship new features continuously. Redgate Monitor gets new capabilities every single week. See what's just landed and what's coming next on its roadmap, then tell Redgate Software, Inc what to build next!

Redgate Flyway's product updates - july 2026.

Redgate Flyway's product updates - july 2026. This month is a big one! Redgate Software, Inc announced the latest major release of Redgate Flyway Enterprise, built to help teams move fast with AI without losing control of the database. Three key new capabilities also landed in preview: Flyway's MCP server, advanced support for Databricks, and Oracle schema existence checks. And Redgate Software, Inc is closing with a short, honest read on failure and what it takes to make deployments less stressful. Here's the round-up. A database change control layer for enterprises scaling AI. AI is changing how quickly software gets built, and the database is where a lot of that speed runs into risk. The latest major release of Redgate Flyway Enterprise is designed to close that gap, so teams can embrace AI-generated code and agentic workflows while keeping database change governed, validated, and auditable. At the center of the release is the new Flyway Enterprise MCP Server, which brings a governed, agentic approach to managing database change. Every AI-driven change is captured, validated, and auditable. The full launch announcement including the future direction for Flyway Enterprise is here: Redgate introduces database change control layer to support enterprises scaling AI. Advanced capabilities for Databricks, now in preview. The advanced capabilities that SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL teams already rely on in Flyway Enterprise are now available for Databricks. Features for managing Lakehouse objects via Unity Catalog integration are in preview, and Redgate Software, Inc can support you on the journey to Databricks Lakebase for your OLTP and AI workloads too. That means versioning every schema change, generating versioned and undo migration scripts, catching problems before they ship, and detecting drift, all across your whole data platform. Redgate Software, Inc is also working on advanced support for Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric, extending the same governed approach across more of the analytics estate. If that's of interest to your team, email Redgate Software, Inc. Redgate Software, Inc'd love to hear from you. Oracle schema existence checks, now in preview. When generating versioned and undo migration scripts for Oracle projects, you can now include object existence checks in the generated SQL. Because Oracle auto-commits DDL, a migration that fails partway through can leave a partially applied state that's fiddly to clean up by hand. With existence checks, each DDL statement is wrapped in a conditional, so if you need to re-run the script, objects that already exist are skipped rather than throwing errors, and recovery from a timeout becomes a simple flyway repair then flyway migrate. Full details: Oracle schema existence checks are now in preview in Flyway Enterprise. One more read: to learn and improve, Redgate Software, Inc can't be afraid to fail. A lot of this month's news is about making fast, AI-driven change safe, but tooling is only half the story. In this piece, software craftsman Rob Richardson argues that deployment stress often starts when a fear of failure seeps into a team's culture: the build goes red and the first question is "Who's to blame?" His fix is a learning mindset over a blame-first one, digging into root causes and making the machine do more after every failure. A good reminder that safer deployments come from the workflow and the way Redgate Software, Inc treat mistakes. Read it here: To learn and improve, Redgate Software, Inc cannot be afraid to fail. As always, Redgate Software, Inc'd love to hear what you think of these updates. Email Redgate Software, Inc with any comments or questions, or book a 30-minute Zoom call with the development team.
