Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Zero to two years of modality-specific work experience.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
  • Registration with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or obtaining registration within one year in the position.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification, or an American Heart Association-recognized equivalent.
  • Ability to perform the specified standing, sitting, walking, climbing, indoor, elevated-area, confined-space, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, hand and arm, repetitive-motion, leg, reaching, dexterity, tactile-sensory, and olfactory-sensory functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, lift and move patients up to approximately 350 pounds with assistance, and push or pull objects or patients up to approximately 350 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, near and distance vision, color discrimination, depth perception, peripheral vision, and hearing acuity, including understanding whispered conversations at three feet.
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Ability to qualify physically for respirator use through initial and annual medical evaluation.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation.
  • Use available MRI resources, protocols, and technology to provide accurate and timely imaging services.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures to promote comfort and cooperation.
  • Follow established safety standards, infection-control practices, and MRI-specific protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond appropriately to their needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of MRI equipment and work areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and organizational policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of X-ray experience is preferred.
