Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability with a focus on client advocacy.
  • Proficiency in insurance management systems and digital tools.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and make decisions within agency constraints and insurance laws.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of commercial lines insurance, including commercial insurance forms and risk alternatives.
  • Familiarity with all agency operations and a thorough understanding of the agency system.
  • Experience in commercial lines underwriting and marketing with a multiline insurance agency or brokerage operation.
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily client communications, including policy inquiries, billing questions, and service requests.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain current client records and document service activities in the agency management system.
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal departments to resolve service issues and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Monitor renewal timelines and proactively initiate renewal processes.
  • Support commercial risk advisors and account executives with proposals, summaries, and client deliverables.
  • Coordinate communications between carriers and account executives.
  • Oversee underwriting processes to ensure compliance and timely policy delivery.
  • Manage renewals, endorsements, and policy adjustments to align with client needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and market shifts.
  • Collaborate with carriers and underwriters to negotiate favorable terms and identify optimal coverage options.
  • Identify service improvement opportunities and drive innovation in service delivery using client feedback and market insights.
  • Analyze existing coverage to identify gaps and recommend additional insurance solutions.
  • Understand client operations and evolving needs to suggest complementary products.
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive to develop and present cross-sell strategies.
  • Exchange information with customers and carriers, solve problems, quote, and negotiate.
  • Collect information about changes to customer characteristics, analyze continued exposure and risk tolerance, and review coverage options and risk-management or prevention strategies.
