Principal Associate, Retail Marketing, In-Café Events & Experiences

Your Role:
We are looking for a passionate marketer with a track record of delivering breakthrough results via multi-channel campaigns who also has experience managing strategic projects. If you’re a highly collaborative contributor who is adept at bringing ideas to life in creative ways, you may be the perfect match for our Principal Associate, Cafe Experience Strategist position.
This role will be a blend of strategy, campaign and project based initiatives grounded in a strong customer and retail focus. This individual will be the lead marketing strategist for the Capital One’s Money & Life Program and the in-Café food & beverage experience. This marketing strategist will formulate an integrated strategy across both owned and paid channels as well as in-retail experiences. The ideal candidate will be able to think about not just the planning of a campaign or experience, but also define success, measurement plans and optimization of projects and campaigns, balancing the analysis of individual channels and building the internal narrative about campaign performance. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with other marketing strategists, operations and business teams. They should be passionate about consumer research and leveraging insights to inform strategy and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the ideation, and collaboration to deliver integrated, multi-channel, marketing campaigns to drive key brand equities and brand affinity
Synthesize research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors to identify new strategic recommendations to improve marketing and business results and Brand impact
Partner with cross-functional teams including brand, business, creative, legal, operations, and corporate communication partners to collaborate and drive compelling messaging strategies and channel plans that establish Capital One Cafes as centers of well-being
Lead ideation of disruptive marketing strategies and best-in-class social media marketing to reinforce Capital One’s unique value proposition
Look for new ways to connect our customer journey to better deliver and bring to life our brand story and core value propositions
Champion and adhere to risk management processes and policies
Support implementation and utilization of brand plan for new and existing work, which requires coordination and collaboration with Bank Marketing, Brand Planning, and Channel partners
Complete creative reviews and approvals of marketing collateral tied to Bank campaigns
Create strategies alongside strategic partners across partner business organizations
Manage creative reviews and approvals of marketing collateral tied to campaigns, retail marketing productions, experiences and activations
Drive projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed
Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands and evolving project needs
Display strong consulting and collaboration skills while also knowing how and when to lead projects
Stay current on retail industry trends related to food and beverage, events and programming
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 3 years of experience in marketing or production experience
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of marketing experience at a financial services or consumer company
3+ years of food and beverage, retail or event experience
4+ years of experience marketing challenger brands and consumer technologies
5+ years of experience in marketing or production experience
