Electrical Hardware Engineer
About the job
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, or Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, or Control disciplines.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience with Distributed Control System and Programmable Logic Controller hardware design is preferred.
- Knowledge of digital and analogue design.
- Knowledge of engineering processes and power plant applications.
- Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controller hardware, and input/output types.
- Working knowledge of connectivity of third-party systems with Distributed Control Systems, including DNP 3.0, Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP, and Profibus.
- Basic knowledge of information technology networking for Distributed Control System and Programmable Logic Controller applications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Self-motivation, good time management, and willingness to learn.
- Evaluate Distributed Control Systems for new and modernization installations and prepare input/output lists.
- Participate in site surveys, design review meetings, site readiness meetings, and factory acceptance testing.
- Develop input/output lists and input/output channel allocation.
- Participate in site installation and commissioning.
- Prepare and update engineering documentation, including installation work packages.
- Conceptualize control designs and present them to customers as part of customer design reviews.
- Perform basic and detailed engineering of Distributed Control System control cabinets.
- Create loop drawings for field instrumentation.
- Calculate heat loads for Distributed Control System and Programmable Logic Controller cabinets.
- Guide the design, development, and implementation of complex hardware solutions while adhering to manufacturing capabilities.
- Experience with Distributed Control System and Programmable Logic Controller hardware design.
