Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
  • Three to seven years of experience.
  • General understanding or working knowledge of radio-frequency theory and practice, LTE and Voice over LTE technology, Ericsson LTE and Voice over LTE platform design and optimization, propagation modeling software such as Atoll and iBwave, and computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, MapInfo, and MySQL.
  • A good understanding of engineering concepts and the aptitude and desire to learn and advance in a technical field.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the radio-frequency design of the regional Long-Term Evolution network.
  • Create search areas within the assigned geographic area of responsibility.
  • Work with the performance team to understand area and sector issues.
  • Work with the System Performance counterpart to understand issues and help reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts within the sector.
  • Create and supply cell-site translations.
  • Perform drive testing to evaluate search-area candidates as necessary.
  • Prepare Federal Communications Commission, Federal Aviation Administration, and FAS submissions in a timely manner.
  • Perform radio-engineering evaluations for system planning and site acquisition.
  • Begin identifying location-specific needs for new cells, considering baseline, performance, capacity, and population.
  • Evaluate coverage problems and requirements for coverage cells.
Desired Qualifications
  • A programming background is a plus.
