Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities.
  • Must be able to work effectively with diverse populations, including differences in gender, race, and sexual orientation.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Regular and reliable job attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office with moderate environmental noise.
Responsibilities
  • Support reporting efforts to help tell the organization's story internally and externally.
  • Draft presentations and processes within brand guidelines and draft and review advocacy communications.
  • Draft national advocacy text messages for priority issue campaigns, including voter engagement, Social Security, family caregiving, and prescription drugs.
  • Work on special projects across national and state advocacy email, text messaging, direct mail, and advocacy fundraising portfolios.
  • Assist with online event management and the Mobilize America organizing tool.
