- An accredited professional degree in Architecture, such as a B.Arch, M.Arch, and/or D.Arch, or a Canadian or international equivalent.
- An architectural license in good standing within the candidate's home state, plus National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification.
- Relevant experience in an Architectural, Engineering or Construction firm.
- At least 10 years of professional experience.
- Work independently on projects and execute all phases of design, including programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration.
- Generate complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications for large, highly complex projects without oversight.
- Develop and generate studies, presentations, and reports, and present them to internal or external audiences.
- Research and apply the International Building Code and other regulatory requirements during project delivery.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Construction personnel to develop coordinated and constructible designs.
- Participate and contribute during drawing reviews, coordination meetings, and quality checks.
- Support construction activities, including responding to requests for information, reviewing submittals, and preparing construction progress reports.
- Assist the Project Manager with resource planning, budget and scope definition, schedule adherence, and overall deliverable quality.
- Conduct quality checks of documents for complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations, documentation, and design approaches, and drive overall project quality.
- Identify and resolve complex code-, construction-, or design-related challenges.
- Provide mentorship to architectural staff.
- Act as Architect of Record for project assignments when appropriate.
- Proficiency in Revit and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Extensive knowledge and application of International Building Codes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
- Entrepreneurial and client-focused leadership skills.
- Flexibility for moderate travel in support of project-based or training activities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- A history of successful cross-discipline project coordination and execution across a variety of project types.
- Leadership experience serving as an architectural point of contact for clients, other disciplines, estimating personnel, and construction personnel.
- LEED accreditation, WELL certification, or similar sustainability credentials.
- Experience in one or more core markets, including research and development laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, consumer products, and international clients or projects.
