This Spring Internship is from January through May 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work part-time hours (10-29 a week). Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 9-6 pm. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Our team supports the Game Shows Division. We work on Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and any other property currently in development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Editor Intern reports directly to the Creative Director, Game Shows Brand Creative & Digital Marketing, and will work closely with the Productions/Creative Operations team on day-to-day task management. The Editor Intern will help our team’s editors and senior editors with social and digital asset creation for our main brands and IPs. We also build creative for internal partners like the Licensing team and the Development team.
Because we work on a wide rang of deliverables, this internship is a combination of an Assistant Editor and Editor role. While the majority of your remit will be quick turn“always on” short-form videos for paid and organic social media, you will also shadow our Editors and support them in more of an Assistant Editor (AE) capacity for select larger in-house projects like sizzle reels and on-air promotions. This would include clip pulls, reviewing and sourcing footage, creating stringouts, assisting with captioning, and other AE duties. Accordingly, we’d like to work with someone who is a detail-oriented individual who can deliver creative requests and assets with light supervision. Projects include, but are not limited to: paid and organic social media for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. For posts, stories and reels. This means you’ll work on short-form social content (including 16x9, 9x16, 4x3 edits), and longer form social content (8-10+ minutes), often delivering the same edit for multiple platforms/specs. Must posses a solid understanding of video editing, plus design/graphics and animated asset production, and best practices for social and digital assets.
This person is a great communicator who presents a positive and professional attitude to stakeholders and co-workers. A punctual person who raises their hand if there are any concerns around tasks, personal capacity and/or deadlines. They maintain an efficient workflow and process and promptly communicates any issues regarding design and production to management. Can also manage assets and archives projects accordingly. Exhibit willingness to take on responsibilities outside of their job description and has the ability to stay on pace in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be LA-based and able to work a hybrid onsite schedule.
- Min. 1-2 years in social and/or digital environment
- Editor and Assistant Editor experience
- Good grasp of editing fundamentals like timing, audio, sequencing, transitions, and stabilizing footage
- Proficient working knowledge of Abobe Creative Suite required, especially Premiere and AfterEffects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agency and/or content studio experience
- Broadcast media experience
The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
