Arista beat the S&P 500 five years running, a feat only 10 of 484 stocks managed

Arista Networks (ANET), which sells network switches, has beaten the S&P 500 for five straight years. Only 10 of the 484 index members with five years of price data did the same. Chance alone would produce about five such stocks, so luck explains some of the streak. Arista's results suggest more than luck: net income rose in every year, up 416% over the period, while the share price gained 852%. Revenue rose 37.7% year on year in the second quarter of fiscal 2026. Management raised its full-year revenue growth outlook to 40%. Net income growth slowed to 20% in the latest twelve months, from 26% the year before. Arista reports third-quarter results on November 3, 2026.

Arista shares fall 2.7% to $211 as it pushes Ethernet into AI accelerator racks

Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) unveiled an Ethernet push deeper into AI computing, but its shares fell about 2.7% to $211.01 on October 12. The move aims to let customers connect AI chips without locking their infrastructure into one supplier's proprietary network. The company's Etherlink SU-144 architecture supports 144 accelerators over a single-hop network and up to 1,024 across racks. Its liquid-cooled 7060XE7 switches deliver 102.4 terabits per second each, and next-generation optics could lift rack bandwidth from 1.6 to 6.5 petabits per second. At $211.01, the stock sits 24.87% above GuruFocus's GF Value estimate of $168.98. The announcement disclosed no orders, pricing, or shipment volumes.

Arista shares rise 2% as new Ethernet portfolio targets Nvidia's AI chip networking market

Arista Networks unveiled an open Ethernet portfolio designed to connect accelerators within racks and across AI clusters, aiming to reduce networking bottlenecks that can leave AI chips idle. Shares rose nearly 2% to $215.60 on Friday. The Etherlink SU-144 architecture connects 144 accelerators in one hop and supports up to 1,024 across racks. The liquid-cooled 7060XE7 switch delivers 102.4 terabits per second of capacity. Arista claims future optics could increase rack bandwidth from 1.6 to 6.5 petabits per second and reduce data-centre footprint by nearly half. However, the announcement includes no orders, pricing, or shipment timeline. Shares currently trade 28.06% above their GF Value estimate of $168.36, leaving limited margin for execution missteps.

AI networking boom drives Arista Networks up 57% as demand overwhelms supply

Arista Networks' shares have risen over 57% in 2026 as AI infrastructure demand creates networking bottlenecks. Goldman Sachs expects optical networking revenue to jump more than tenfold between 2026 and 2028. The company now has over 100 customers using its Etherlink AI networking fabric, up from 4-5 in 2024. Arista expects to generate at least $3.5 billion from AI networking customers this year, representing roughly 27% of its anticipated $12.7 billion revenue. The firm's purchase commitments surged to $9.7 billion in Q2 from $3.6 billion year-over-year. Second-quarter revenue increased 38% to $3.04 billion, with Q3 estimates pointing to 43% growth. The global Ethernet switch market grew 43% in Q2 to $18.9 billion, according to IDC.

Arista raises 2026 revenue outlook to $12.6B amid supply chain improvements, but margin pressures loom

Arista Networks trades near $188, roughly its pre-August level before the company raised its 2026 revenue outlook for the third time. The market initially priced in that forecast with a 6.7% share rise following the 4 August report, but has since returned most of those gains. Management increased its 2026 revenue outlook to $12.6 billion from $11.5 billion in May, projecting 40% growth. The raise stems from improved supply chain conditions. Multiyear purchase commitments nearly tripled to $9.7 billion at Q2 2026 end. However, gross margin fell to 63.4% in Q2 2026 from 65.6% year-over-year. Management expects rising memory and silicon costs, maintaining its 2026 gross margin guidance between 62% and 64%. The CEO warned the industry's component shortage remains a two-year problem lasting until 2028.
