Requirements
- Big 4 Accounting Firm or other top tier accounting firm highly preferred
- Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, preferably with SaaS companies
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
- Public company or IPO experience preferred
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Team-builder and a leader
- Critical-thinker, high attention to detail, depth of analysis and ability to communicate accounting results across company departments
- Strong project management and time management skills are required
- Proven ability to work autonomously and fully-remote
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization are a must
Responsibilities
- Prepare Company for all aspects of financial reporting and compliance leading to IPO (targeting 2025 or 2026)
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
- Take full ownership of all accounting functions, including planning, directing and coordinating day-to-day accounting processes, month end close, and reporting. Responsibilities may be broader depending on the capabilities of the individual
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis (including the oversight of international subsidiaries and leading the consolidation process)
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation consistent with the standards of a public company
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Responsible for the training, continued development, and retaining of skilled and future accounting staff
- Drive process improvement, integration, and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations across current and future company systems
