Requirements
  • Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams working on large projects
  • An empathetic leadership mindset of proactively setting goals, giving feedback, and cultivating teamwork, delivery, and performance from skilled engineers with a variety of working styles and backgrounds
  • Familiarity with working in an agile environment focused on rapid delivery and iteration
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment and familiarity with tools such as: Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana. Experience using APM tooling and basic CI/CD tooling is also expected.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience using them in a remote-first environment
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Python, Django, and working with SaaS applications and backend SQL databases. Any prior experience with building enterprise security products is a plus but not a requirement
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience as a hands-on engineer with successively greater responsibility and impact
  • 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading successively larger teams and/or organizations
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership and drive innovation to enable your engineering organization to deliver high-quality, high-performance code
  • Establish and continually improve development and team processes that yield efficient results in day-to-day engineering operations
  • Advance the organization’s monitoring and alerting capabilities and drive operationalization of alerting tools to improve reliability
  • Provide mentorship to managers and individual contributors via 1:1s and intentional career planning
  • Develop continuous improvement opportunities for Engineers and Managers within the organization
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for integration, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing
  • Be a technical leader within the broader company and raise the bar for performance and quality in a complicated space

Security Firm Appomni Warns Of Data Exposure Loophole In Suitecommerce

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) security company AppOmni cautioned administrators at companies using NetSuite’s SuiteCommerce platform about a common customer misconfiguration that can cause data exposure. Misconfigured access controls on custom record types (CRTs) could allow attackers to access sensitive data via this feature that enables external-facing stores, Aaron Costello, chief of SaaS security research at AppOmni, wrote in a Thursday (Aug. 15) blog post on the company’s website. For administrators looking to mitigate this risk, Costello suggested tightening access controls on CRTs, setting sensitive fields to “None” for public access, and considering temporarily taking their sites offline, according to the post
