Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Educational Administration is required.
  • A Texas principal certificate or another appropriate Texas certificate is required.
  • The candidate must be eligible to become a certified appraiser for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System or another approved evaluation system.
  • At least three years of experience as a classroom teacher is required.
  • The candidate must be able to lead an administrative team under the guidance of the campus principal.
  • The candidate must be able to leverage curriculum, technology, and physical spaces for future-ready learning and instruction.
  • The candidate must be able to cultivate social-emotional learning to support the well-being of students.

Responsibilities
  • Guide and monitor the principal’s shared vision, including personalized instruction and learning through collaborative leadership, innovative strategies, and flexible space utilization.
  • Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise campus operations and personnel.
  • Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service.
  • Oversee compliance with district policies and the success of instructional programs and campus activities.
  • Encourage and support development of future-ready learner skills, including embracing challenges, communicating, collaborating, contributing, innovating, and responding.
  • Model effective use of digital learning and support the district vision for future-ready learning.
  • Assist the campus principal in using flexible learning spaces to maximize student learning.
  • Build instructional and leadership capacity among staff.
  • Monitor instructional and managerial processes, assess program results, and take corrective action.
  • Promote social-emotional learning for students and staff.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive culture in which learners have input, feel valued, and are invested.
  • Provide resources and ongoing support for teaching staff and support collaboration among staff members.

  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance related to instructional strategies, classroom management, and public communication.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.
  • Make employment recommendations to the principal and superintendent.
  • Plan professional learning activities with campus-level committees.
  • Engage in collaborative goal setting with staff.
  • Manage school facilities and innovative learning spaces.
  • Assist in developing the master schedule.
  • Supervise operations in the principal’s absence.
  • Help plan daily school activities, class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular schedules.
  • Supervise student attendance reporting and monitoring and coordinate follow-up investigations with the attendance clerk.
  • Compile annual budget requests with department heads and faculty.
  • Monitor requisitions, inventory, records, and receipts for supplies, textbooks, and equipment.
  • Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill activities.
  • Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board policy.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods.
  • Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers regarding student and school issues.
  • Participate in professional development and continually develop skills related to the assignment.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and responsible behavior and serve as a role model for campus staff.
  • Build school-community partnerships and create real-world learning opportunities for students.
  • Articulate the school’s mission to the community and solicit support.
  • Address school and community needs and values through appropriate activities.
  • Encourage community and parent involvement.
  • Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal.
  • Supervise teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, clerical personnel, and other assigned staff.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions, and accommodate frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
