Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, or related technical field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
  • A minimum of six years of experience in automation engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering is required.
  • Automation engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering
  • Strong programming skills in at least one language used for automation development (Go, Python, or Java)
  • Experience working with Linux systems and distributed environments
  • Core Technical Experience: Infrastructure automation and operational tooling; Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform; CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows; Automation of infrastructure or operational processes; Cloud platforms or hybrid infrastructure environments; Observability systems including Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry; API-driven automation and system integrations
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes platforms and container infrastructure; Experience implementing GitOps workflows; Experience building internal developer or operational tooling; Experience automating incident response or operational workflows; Experience contributing to open-source infrastructure or automation tools
Responsibilities
  • Identify manual operational processes across infrastructure, platform, and operations teams that can be automated
  • Design and build automation systems that reduce operational toil and improve reliability
  • Develop tools and services that enable teams to provision and manage infrastructure through automated workflows
  • Build automation that supports consistent operations across hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Develop automation systems using modern programming languages (Go, Python, Java)
  • Integrate automation with infrastructure APIs, platform services, and operational tooling
  • Build internal tools that improve operational workflows and reduce manual intervention
  • Develop reusable automation frameworks that can be adopted across IT teams
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Integrate automation with Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD systems, and Git-based workflows
  • Support automation of operational tasks across infrastructure and platform environments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and platform engineering teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Identify manual, repetitive, and low-value work across engineering and operations
  • Analyze workflows and determine whether they should be automated, simplified, or eliminated
  • Replace manual processes with software, APIs, or automated workflows
  • Drive measurable reductions in operational toil and process complexity
  • Develop automated workflows for common operational tasks such as provisioning, configuration management, and environment setup
  • Implement automation that improves incident response and operational reliability
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve system operations
  • Integrate automation with monitoring and observability systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
  • Use telemetry and operational data to identify opportunities for automation and reliability improvements
