Requirements
  • Prior experience as a manager of ML development teams
  • Passionate about fostering personal and professional growth in individual team members
  • Industry experience with embodied AI development with real-world product impact
  • Experience with roadmap planning, stakeholder management, requirements gathering and alignment with peers towards milestones and deliverables
  • Prior hands-on ML development experience in an embodied area (e.g., robotics)
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar experience
  • Experience working in a project-based (“matrix”) operating environment
  • Strong knowledge of Machine Learning and related areas, such as Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, etc.
  • Experience developing machine learning solutions for Autonomous Vehicles
Responsibilities
  • Grow the team according to the product roadmap on commercialization timelines
  • Establish solid ML practices from the start, developing the autonomous vehicle capability roadmap with production-level quality data and models across the ML cycle
  • Prioritize effectively, keeping processes lean and effective
  • Challenge the status quo (both technical and organizational/process)
  • Train, tune, and debug production models, informing decisions on how to collect and synthesize training data
  • Ensure projects are resourced in a way that balances the needs of the business with the needs of the individuals
  • Partner with leadership to maintain a culture of collaboration, impact, innovation, and health
  • Work cross-functionally to set the broader strategy and roadmap
  • Review upcoming decisions and assess any dependencies or risks
  • Debug teams and projects - ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, think creatively, eliminate possible factors contributing to a bug, add feedback loops, and assess feedback
