Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required within 30 days of employment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
  • Educate and prepare patients for GYN procedures by reviewing preparation instructions, answering questions, and ensuring patient understanding and compliance.
  • Observe patients' conditions, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in patient records.
  • Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
  • Draw blood from patients or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as requested by a physician or registered nurse.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles to create and maintain a sterile field.
  • Maintain stock items for examination and blood-drawing rooms and maintain forms used by clinical staff.
  • Perform clerical and secretarial work as needed.
  • Interact with patients and colleagues in accordance with institutional service excellence standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program.
  • Medical Assistant certification, such as AAMA-CMA or AMT-RMA.
  • At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish and Chinese language skills.
