About the company

Enova is a financial technology company that provides online lending options for non-prime consumers and small businesses. Enova differentiates itself by focusing on underserved borrowers, using data-driven credit decisions, and maintaining a diversified revenue mix from interest and fees. Its goal is to expand access to trustworthy credit, helping customers cover emergencies and grow their businesses while collaborating with banks to widen lending options.

Blue Tower says Enova's failed Grasshopper Bank deal hurt Q3 as it eyes South Korea

Blue Tower Asset Management said Enova International's abandoned merger with Grasshopper Bank, along with regulatory delays and political opposition, weighed on its third-quarter performance. Its Global Value composite returned 0.54% net in the quarter and 21.50% year to date, driven by energy investments. Enova announced the deal on December 11, 2025. It would have paired Enova's online lending platform with a national bank charter and low-cost deposits, cutting funding costs. The deal needed approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve. Blue Tower says Enova's standalone business remains strong, with second-quarter revenue growth of 22%. The shares closed at $179.45 on October 20, 2026, giving Enova a market capitalisation of $4.47 billion. The letter also details Blue Tower's move into South Korean small-cap equities, following corporate governance reforms.
