Network Administrator
About the job
- At least 3 years of experience programming and maintaining network routers, switches, and firewalls.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with contractors and company personnel.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and/or Oracle is a plus.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems or the retail industry is a plus.
- Ability to operate in a professional work environment.
- Monitor the network for issues and serve as the primary contact with the internet service provider.
- Install, modify, and back up network devices.
- Manage switch ports and virtual local area network configurations, and update switches and routers.
- Install, manage, and update firewalls.
- Monitor intrusion prevention and intrusion detection systems, review alerts and reports, and update systems as necessary.
- Monitor and optimize wide area network performance and devices.
- Monitor network performance and resolve issues as required.
- Analyze traffic flow to identify issues and add capacity.
- Maintain documentation of network maps and IP assignments.
- Deploy new equipment and plan upgrades.
- Work with other departments to provide and sell additional information technology solutions and services to clients, including managed services, new store build-outs, and network configurations and optimizations.
