About the company

TerraCycle is a global recycling company that focuses on hard-to-recycle materials. It operates in 21 countries and partners with leading brands to collect and repurpose waste that would otherwise go to landfills. Its offerings include free recycling programs, paid corporate waste management services, consumer-facing recycling initiatives, and the Loop platform, which sells products in reusable packaging to create recurring revenue as packaging is returned for reuse. TerraCycle earns revenue from corporate partnerships, consumer programs, and Loop-related activities. The company differentiates itself by targeting non-recyclable waste and forming broad collaborations with brands and municipalities to expand recycling capacity. New JUUL2 starter kit launch: upgraded device and four flavours.

New JUUL2 starter kit launch: upgraded device and four flavours. UUL2 has announced a new starter kit with an upgraded device and four flavours, bringing product updates to its existing vaping range. Juul Labs UK has today announced the release of a new JUUL2 starter kit, with an upgraded USB-C device, longer battery life, reduced packaging, and four flavoured pods to help existing adult smokers transition away from cigarettes. The new JUUL2 Starter Kit includes one JUUL2 Device and a USB-C Charging Cable, whilst continuing to benefit from a two-year limited warranty. It also now includes four different flavoured pods, compared to the previous two-pack version, including: * Crisp Menthol - a fresh green menthol flavour with a brisk, cooling finish. * Virginia Tobacco - a bright, authentic tobacco flavour with a subtly sweet, toasted finish. * Mango - a smooth, tropical Mango fruit flavour. * Watermelon - a fresh, classic watermelon fruit flavour. The NHS recognises the role that vaping can play to support adult smokers to transition away from cigarettes, and responsible flavour options are considered an effective factor in this process. Juul Labs UK says new starter kit is designed to help adult smokers transition away from cigarettes, offering a selection to help smokers establish which flavour works best for them. To further support this goal, the new four-pod JUUL2 Starter Kit is priced at the same £9.99 RRP as the previous two-pack version, offering consumers significant savings and value. * Revamped design: In addition to the two new fruit-flavoured pods, the kit includes an improved device with a longer battery life which is rechargeable through a USB-C charging cable and port instead of the old USB charging dock system. * Less packaging: Aligned with Juul Labs' sustainability commitments, the packaging has been redesigned book-style single component to minimise waste. JUUL pods can be recycled for free through Juul Labs' partnership with TerraCycle - each device purchased from the juul.co.uk website will have the option to be shipped with a recycling bag to return used pods for responsible disposal. The JUUL2 non-Tobacco & Menthol range has grown +22 per cent in the latest 12 weeks vs the prior year and, additionally, JUUL2 device volume sales are up +11 per cent as it works to transition more adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes. With the growing consumer preference for quality pod-based devices and the success of our single fruit flavour range Juul Labs UK reports that it is confident the new JUUL2 starter kit will be a welcome and incrementally profitable addition to retailers' vape sales. The new JUUL2 starter kit will be rolled out across the UK from October through major retailers, wholesalers, convenience stores, and juul.co.uk and will retain the £9.99 RRP, which offers value for money with four pods. "We are delighted to launch the new JUUL2 Starter Kit, providing adult smokers with value for money and expanded flavour options to support them on their switching journey," said Melissa Wisdom, Managing Director of Juul Labs UK. " This launch furthers our core mission - to transition the UK's 5.3 million existing smokers by providing high-quality, effective and responsible alternatives." Product rollout begins in October in key accounts and November throughout the wholesale channel. Retailers can contact their Juul Labs representatives for point-of-sale materials.

Clipsal organises recycling trial for electricians.

Clipsal organises recycling trial for electricians. Wednesday, 30 September, 2026 A recycling trial in Queensland is giving electricians an accessible way to dispose of common electrical waste. Organised by Clipsal and delivered in partnership with recycling enterprise TerraCycle, the pilot program involves separate recycling bins for assembled electrical products (such as switches and power points), switch and socket skins, and battery-operated photoelectric smoke alarms. These bins are located at participating CNW Electrical branches, allowing electricians to drop off eligible waste during their regular wholesaler visits. "Electricians regularly remove switches, sockets, smoke alarms and other electrical products from homes and commercial sites, but the correct disposal pathway is not always obvious," said Clipsal CEO Chris Kerr. "By placing dedicated bins at wholesalers, we are putting the recycling option somewhere electricians already visit as part of their working day." TerraCycle is responsible for providing and servicing the recycling bins, collecting returned products, transporting the material for sorting into separate waste streams and then recycling it into raw materials that manufacturers use to make new products. The pilot will allow Clipsal, CNW Electrical and TerraCycle to assess how the collection recycling model works in practice, including the types and volumes of products returned. Participating CNW branches will have three dedicated recycling boxes accepting the following: * Assembled electrical products (eg, switches, power points, dimmers and sensors) * Switch and socket skins * Battery-operated smoke alarms (excluding ionisation and radioactive types) "This trial will give us a clearer picture of how electricians use the service and what is needed to make electrical waste collection work at a larger scale," Kerr said. "Improving e-waste recycling requires practical action across the industry, from manufacturers and wholesalers through to the electricians handling products at the end of their working life." The trial is part of Clipsal's new sustainability program, named 'Better Together', which recognises that manufacturers, wholesalers, electricians, builders and designers each have a role in improving sustainability across the electrical industry. Combining Schneider Electric's wider sustainability experience with Clipsal's knowledge of the Australian residential and light-commercial electrical market, the e-waste recycling program pilot commenced on 17 August. Brita at 60: From water filter to modern hydration brand.

Brita at 60: From water filter to modern hydration brand. In retail, longevity only matters if a brand keeps giving consumers a reason to choose it. Categories shift, expectations rise and products once purchased purely for function increasingly need to deliver on design, convenience, technology and values too. Water filtration is a case in point. What began as a practical way to improve tap water has evolved into a broader hydration category spanning jugs, smart bottles, solutions around the sink, carbonators, integrated appliance filtration and dispensers. As Brita marks 60 years, the opportunity for retailers is not simply to celebrate heritage, but to rethink how hydration can create relevance across more occasions and shoppers. Brita began in Germany in 1966, when Heinz Hankammer made water filters by hand beneath a pear tree in his family garden. The AquaDeMat followed in 1967 to demineralise water for car batteries, before the first household water filter jug arrived in 1970 and helped create an entirely new consumer category. The retail lesson is simple: Strong categories are rarely built by standing still. The original problem may remain, but the way consumers want to solve it changes. Today, filtration needs to fit naturally into everyday routines and the home, while meeting expectations around convenience, aesthetics and responsible consumption. Hydration is moving beyond the kitchen bench. Hydration now sits at the intersection of homewares, wellness, technology and lifestyle. That creates an opportunity to move beyond a purely functional or replacement-led purchase model. Assortment, merchandising and education can help shoppers understand not only what a product does, but where it fits in their life - at the table, on the go, in the kitchen, at work or while entertaining. Brita's 'Drink better. Do better.' campaign reflects this shift. Filtration performance remains the foundation, but the ambition is broader: To make better water choices easy, desirable and relevant. That gives retailers more ways to tell the category story, create purchase occasions and connect with consumers who may not see themselves as traditional water-filter users. Using heritage to drive newness. A milestone can attract attention, but nostalgia alone does not drive a category forward. Heritage is most valuable when it gives innovation credibility. The Brita 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Glass Jug brings that principle to life, combining six decades of filtration expertise with contemporary design for the modern home. More broadly, Brita's portfolio shows how the category is expanding across formats and environments - from jugs and bottles to taps, appliances and commercial settings. For retailers, presenting these as a connected hydration ecosystem rather than isolated products can make the category easier to navigate and create a stronger platform for discovery, education and trade-up. Sustainability needs to work at shelf level. Sustainability is increasingly part of the value equation. Filtered tap water can help households reduce reliance on single-use bottled water, while Brita measures its wider product impact through Planet Contribution - a performance indicator used alongside revenue and profit that balances bottles avoided through Brita products against the company's carbon footprint. The story also extends beyond product use. Brita established its first filter cartridge recycling program in 1992 and, in Australia, partners with TerraCycle on a free national recycling program for used Maxtra Pro filters and their soft-plastic packaging. For retailers, the opportunity is to make that proposition simple and visible. Clear sustainability communication at shelf and online can help shoppers understand the product, the recycling pathway and the broader value of the purchase. The next 60 years. The next phase of hydration retail will be shaped by brands and retailers that make the category feel bigger than filtration alone. Trusted performance remains essential, but growth will increasingly come from combining it with design, convenience, technology, sustainability and a sharper understanding of the occasions that matter to consumers. Sixty years of heritage can open the door. The opportunity is to keep giving shoppers a new reason to walk through it.

TerraCycle launches national vape device recycling service to tackle America's growing waste challenge

TerraCycle Commercial has launched a nationwide collection and recycling service for nicotine vape devices in the United States. The service addresses what the company describes as one of America's fastest-growing waste management challenges. The turnkey solution allows households, municipalities, schools, and businesses to collect and recycle used vape devices. Collection containers are available in three sizes, holding between 30 and 155 devices. The price includes device recycling, containers, shipping, and nicotine pod disposal through incineration. According to a PIRG report cited in the announcement, fires in waste facilities caused by improperly disposed vape devices cost at least $95 million annually in the US. The lithium-ion batteries in vapes pose fire hazards in waste processing facilities. TerraCycle's VapeCycle programme is already active in New Zealand, where it has collected over one million devices. The company operates across 18 countries, providing recycling solutions for difficult-to-recycle materials.
