About the company

ICON Creative Studio produces computer-animated films and television series for entertainment companies, handling projects from early development through final delivery. Its credits include The Search for WondLa for Skydance Animation and Apple TV+, alongside Monsters at Work for Disney Television Animation. The studio combines writing and visual design with character modeling, animation, lighting and sound, so clients commission a complete production or selected stages of the process. It also makes live-action productions and visual effects for films, television and commercials. Founded in 2013, ICON Creative Studio is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • ICON reaches theme parks: its Monstropolis assignment pairs the studio with Pixar and Disney Imagineering.
  • ICON union workers get temporary promotion pay: senior duties lasting over one week trigger the higher position's wage.
  • ICON prioritizes crewing new productions: current union workers precede former employees who left less than six months earlier.

What critics are saying

  • ICON's producer opening requires Vancouver attendance: the full-time position is explicitly on-site.
  • ICON's full-time Vancouver helpdesk role runs late: the in-studio shift lasts from 1 PM to 10 PM.
  • ICON union dues cost 2% of wages plus $80 quarterly, or $288 yearly prepaid in the first quarter.

What makes ICON Creative Studio unique

  • ICON retains independent ownership: its studio operates outside the entertainment groups that commission its animation.
  • ICON builds its own stories: its original slate includes Charlie the Wonderdog, Rocket Club and Dragoons.
  • ICON divides work geographically: North Hollywood develops stories, while Vancouver handles large-scale animation production and final delivery.
