Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of current experience in an acute care setting is required, with clinical proficiency and in-depth knowledge of nursing practice.
  • A current New Hampshire Nursing Assistant License is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support authorization is preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • The role requires basic knowledge of growth and development and awareness of age-appropriate care.
  • The role requires effective verbal, written, visual, and listening communication skills and the ability to work with others as a team member.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice of a Licensed Nursing Assistant.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide personal care and emotional support.
  • Perform complex clinical skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Provide age-specific patient care using basic knowledge of growth and development.
  • Provide basic support to patients and families in response to identified psychosocial needs and cultural and religious preferences.
  • Perform clinical tasks within the scope of Licensed Nursing Assistant practice and in accordance with health-system policies and procedures.
  • Report observations, symptoms, deviations from normal, and changes in a patient's condition to the Registered Nurse.
  • Assist others with selected patient-care activities or tasks as appropriate.
  • Document in selected areas of the medical record according to policies, procedures, and scope of practice.
  • Follow infection-prevention and universal-precautions policies.
  • Apply safety principles, policies, and procedures in daily practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, legal, budget, and company matters, as well as patient privacy and dignity.
  • Perform assigned direct and indirect patient-care, clerical, and environmental duties.
