Journeyman Plumber
About the job
- A journeyman or master license is required.
- Must be in good physical condition and able to stand for extended periods.
- Must have good dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Must have aptitude for technical problem-solving.
- Must be familiar with building codes and current laws and regulations.
- Must be able to maintain clean and orderly tools and work areas.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have expert knowledge of trade tools, equipment, and materials.
- Must have a keen eye for detail.
- Must be able to work outside and inside in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas; in high, tight, or confined spaces and other adverse locations; and in all types of weather.
- Must be able to climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to lift, move, or carry 50 pounds.
- Perform the full range of journeyman or master journeyman duties for plumbing, piping, sheet metal, electrical, ironworking, and welding in the construction, finishing, and repair of buildings.
- Perform trade-specific tasks on a construction site.
- Oversee crew productivity.
- Ensure schedules and deadlines are met.
- Perform layout activities.
- Perform material takeoffs as necessary.
- Request trade-related materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform planned maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Perform equipment start-up and complete associated documentation.
- Perform quality control inspections.
- Perform technical troubleshooting and diagnostics when needed.
- A high school degree or GED, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience, is preferred.
