About the Job

Requirements

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent area.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in system design and/or ASIC or SoC architecture for GPU, CPU, XPU, or networking products.
  • Deep understanding of communication interconnect protocols such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, NVLink, CXL, and PCIe.
  • Ability to architect multi-GPU and multi-CPU topologies, with awareness of bandwidth scaling, NUMA, memory models, coherency, and resilience.
  • Strong analytical and system modeling skills for performance, power, and resilience.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Architect multi-GPU systems for scale-up and scale-out configurations while balancing AI performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Define, modify, and evaluate future architectures for high-speed interconnects such as NVLink and Ethernet, co-designed with GPU memory systems and networking hardware.
  • Architect RDMA-capable hardware and define transport-layer optimizations for GPU-based large-scale AI workload deployments.
  • Explore and build high-density multi-chiplet, multi-package, multi-node rack-scale AI systems consisting of hundreds or thousands of copper- and optically interconnected GPUs.
  • Use and modify system models, perform simulations, and conduct bottleneck analyses to guide design trade-offs.
  • Work with GPU ASIC, compiler, library, and software teams to enable hardware-software co-design across compute, memory, and communication layers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with NICs, DPUs, RDMA/RoCE, or InfiniBand transport offload architectures.
  • Expertise in chiplet interconnect architectures or multi-node fabrics and protocols for high-performance distributed computing.

About the Company

NVIDIA

Designs the chips and software that power AI

NVIDIA designs the chips and software that power artificial intelligence and sells complete data center systems to cloud providers, AI labs, and other businesses, along with GeForce graphics cards for gamers. Its GPUs, chips that perform thousands of calculations at once, became the main hardware for AI after researchers used them to train the AlexNet image-recognition model in 2012. NVIDIA connects many GPUs with its own processors and networking gear into servers and rack-sized computers, and developers program them through its CUDA software. These systems bring in most of its sales, and it also makes chips for cars and robots. Jensen Huang co-founded NVIDIA in 1993, and it is based in Santa Clara, California.
