Strong track record implementing security in industrial control system contexts and securing critical national infrastructure.
  • Leadership & Delivery: Demonstrable ability to spearhead teams and manage complex security engagements on live industrial sites. Experience conducting engagements on operational plants – including performing risk assessments and deploying appropriate security controls – is required. Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently, delivering results that meet client priorities and deadlines.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Proven team player who can also take initiative and spearhead; able to work effectively independently and within multidisciplinary teams in a complex, matrix organization.
  • Technical Mastery in OT: In-depth knowledge of the OT system lifecycle – how OT systems are specified, procured, designed, deployed, and operated – and how to embed cyber security best practices into each stage; hands-on experience with security technologies used in industrial control systems and SCADA environments.
  • Standards & Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with OT security standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443 and NIST CSF, and with regulations like the NIS Regulations and HSE OG-0086; ability to apply these frameworks in practice and guide organisations through compliance and accreditation processes.
  • Security Clearance & Travel: Ability to obtain the necessary UK security clearance for working on sensitive projects; willingness to travel throughout the UK to client sites, with flexibility for short-term travel as required.
  • Certifications & Professional Memberships: Industry certifications focused on OT security are highly desirable (e.g., GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), ISA/IEC 62443 for OT; CISSP or CISM). Chartered or full membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IISP, BCS, IET) is advantageous.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Involvement: Active involvement in the cyber security community (publishing articles, speaking at conferences, contributing to standards) is a plus; self-driven with keen interest in emerging technologies and security innovations.
  • Specialist Expertise: Deep expertise in at least one OT security sub-domain (e.g., security architecture design, incident response, cyber risk management, security training, policy development) as a bonus.
Responsibilities
  • Lead OT Cybersecurity Programmes: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for multiple complex OT cyber security projects; manage client relationships and guide internal teams to deliver high-quality results on time; ensure engagement aligns with client objectives and risk appetite while protecting mission-critical systems and maximizing operational resilience.
  • Security Architecture & Innovation: Design and govern secure OT system architectures in industrial environments; apply advanced security controls such as robust network segmentation and hardened ICS/SCADA systems; continuously seek innovative approaches to address complex OT security challenges.
  • Governance & Risk Management: Establish robust cyber security governance frameworks tailored to OT environments; spearhead comprehensive security risk assessments and gap analyses using NIST CSF and IEC 62443; identify cost-effective security controls in line with client risk appetite; oversee implementation to ensure risks are managed and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Policy Development & Compliance: Develop and enforce enterprise security policies and procedures that meet corporate and regulatory requirements while reflecting OT best practices; ensure policies align with standards and regulations such as NIS Regulations and HSE OG-0086; provide senior-level guidance to help clients remain compliant with evolving laws and industry standards.
  • Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, including senior executives and operational stakeholders; act as trusted adviser, articulate and pitch cyber security advice in business and technical terms; manage stakeholder expectations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Project & Team Leadership: Oversee multiple project teams and mentor junior consultants and engineers; coordinate multidisciplinary efforts in a matrix organisation; ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope; provide clear direction and resolve issues or escalations; ensure overall quality of OT cyber security services on projects.

AtkinsRéalis' nuclear revenue up 18% to $671M as union calls for fair contract

The Society of Professional Engineers and Associates (SPEA) says AtkinsRéalis' strong second-quarter nuclear results underscore the value of engineers driving that growth. The company's nuclear segment generated $671.2 million in revenue, up 18.3% year-over-year, whilst Nuclear Segment Adjusted EBIT rose 20.8% to $77.0 million. AtkinsRéalis raised its full-year 2026 nuclear revenue outlook to approximately $2.7 billion from $2.5 billion. SPEA's collective agreements with Candu Energy, an AtkinsRéalis subsidiary, expire at year-end. SPEA President Mark Chudak said fair agreements must recognise employees' contributions. The results follow Canada's June nuclear strategy, which targets building up to 10 new large-scale reactors and establishing at least four international markets for Canadian reactor technology by 2040.

AtkinsRéalis secures EDF nuclear framework and names Byron Bright as US president from July 2026

AtkinsRéalis Group has announced Byron Bright will become President, US, on 1 July 2026, succeeding Steve Morriss, who will continue leading the global Minerals & Metals business until year-end. The company has also been appointed by EDF and Sizewell C Limited to a long-term professional services framework for UK nuclear projects. The appointments reinforce AtkinsRéalis' position in nuclear, transport and infrastructure sectors, supporting a multiyear stream of UK nuclear work. However, analysts note earnings may contract from recent levels, with concerns about margin sustainability and reliance on non-cash earnings. Community fair value estimates range between CA$99.37 and CA$117.29, with shares potentially trading 17% above fair value despite recent pullbacks. Total capital raised has reached $295 million across multiple funding rounds.
