About the job

Requirements
  • Production experience designing governed analytical and semantic architectures on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, with depth in semantic models, enterprise metrics, Direct Lake, OneLake, and AI-enabled analytics.
  • Designs production-grade Power BI and Fabric semantic models with fact/dimension grain, star schemas, relationships, reusable measures, calculation logic, hierarchies, business-friendly metadata, and bounded analytical domains.
  • Deep understanding of Direct Lake semantic models over governed OneLake data products, including model design, Delta-table dependencies, framing/source-state considerations, performance, security, deployment, and production validation.
  • Establishes centralized, reusable business metrics with clear definitions, ownership, grain, authoritative implementations, dependencies, and lifecycle management; understands coordinated SQL and DAX implementations and placement of metrics in the Lakehouse or semantic model.
  • Designs semantic models and governed data products for Fabric Data Agents and broader agentic solutions, with clear business terminology, model descriptions, relationships, and measures.
  • Designs analytics that preserve appropriate authorization from governed OneLake data products through semantic consumption, including OneLake data access roles, Power BI model security such as row-level security, and Import versus Direct Lake implications.
  • Advanced DAX and data-modeling skills, including diagnosing model and query performance with Power BI Performance Analyzer, DAX Query View, DAX Studio, model metadata, relationship analysis, and representative workload testing.
  • Understanding of Fabric REST APIs and metadata for Audit & Monitoring observability solutions.
  • Understanding of data modeling and data engineering concepts, Medallion architecture, and data mesh concepts.
  • Establishes business concepts, grain, entities, relationships, measures, ownership, security, and consumption requirements before designing reports.
  • Able to communicate considerations, approaches, limitations, and trade-offs to business users and DPMs.
  • Can work independently and manage and prioritize sprint objectives and workloads.
Responsibilities
  • Design the semantic layer connecting governed data products to Power BI, self-service analytics, and AI/agentic consumption.
  • Define how business concepts, relationships, measures, metrics, metadata, and ontologies are represented so people, reports, and AI agents interpret enterprise data consistently.
  • Determine what business logic belongs in the Lakehouse, semantic model, metric layer, and presentation layer, avoiding proliferation of business logic across reports.
  • Design semantic measures so reports and downstream consumers reuse governed definitions rather than independently recreating DAX or business rules.
  • Create reference architectures, development standards, templates, validation patterns, and reusable components for adoption across multiple domains.
  • Balance central governance with domain ownership so teams can independently build data products and analytical experiences.
  • Work across data engineering, analytics engineering, governance, platform, AI, and business-domain teams to establish reusable architecture patterns rather than isolated models or reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Python experience is preferred but not required.

42% of consumers confused by life insurance policies, 1 in 4 abandon purchase

Life insurers face a relevance crisis, according to the World Life Insurance Report 2027 from Capgemini and LIMRA. The study surveyed over 6,100 consumers globally and found that whilst 47% consider buying life insurance, more than 40% feel confused or unconvinced by available information. One in four abandon the purchase process. Younger consumers aged 18-40 are particularly affected, with 28% dropping out before completion. Technical language, affordability concerns, and perceived irrelevance drive these exits. The report reveals nearly 40% of policyholders rarely hear from insurers post-purchase, and half who discontinue do so within three years. However, best-in-class insurers—representing just 10% of carriers—achieved 41% higher revenue growth and 12% lower lapse rates through personalised engagement and data-driven strategies.

HMRC awards Capgemini $47M SAP migration contract, extending 28-year relationship

The UK's HM Revenue & Customs has awarded Capgemini a £37 million contract to migrate its Enterprise Tax Management Platform from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA. The contract runs until 2032, potentially extending Capgemini's involvement with HMRC's tax systems to 28 years since the relationship began in 2004. The platform handles more than £800 billion in tax revenue and payments annually for 40,000 users. HMRC insisted the procurement was fair and competitive, with several bidders competing from the Digital Legacy Application Services framework. Capgemini became HMRC's lead technology supplier in 2004 under the Aspire contract. A 2014 parliamentary committee found that Aspire cost £7.9 billion between 2004 and 2014, generating £1.2 billion in combined profit for Capgemini and Fujitsu.

Capgemini raises 2026 revenue growth target to 8.5-9% after strong H1 performance

Capgemini has upgraded its 2026 revenue growth outlook following strong first-half performance. The French IT services firm now expects constant currency revenue growth of around 8.5% to 9.0%, up from its previous target of 6.5% to 8.5%. The company reported revenues of €12.1 billion in the first half of 2026, up 8.8% year-on-year, with constant currency growth of 11.3%. Operating margin reached 12.5% of revenues, up 10 basis points year-on-year. Chief executive Aiman Ezzat attributed the performance to strong demand for AI-driven transformation services, particularly agentic AI and physical AI solutions. The company's newly integrated Intelligent Business Operations business line, following the WNS acquisition, is generating significant commercial traction. Capgemini maintained its operating margin target of 13.6% to 13.8% and organic free cash flow guidance of €1.8 billion to €1.9 billion for the full year.
