About the company

SanDisk designs solid-state storage products based on flash memory, a non-volatile technology that preserves data without power. Its offerings include memory cards (CompactFlash, SD) and USB flash drives, using controllers and firmware to manage read/write, error correction, and wear leveling for durable, portable storage. The company helped popularize flash memory for cameras and mobile devices and expanded production to meet growing demand. In 2016, Western Digital acquired SanDisk for about $19 billion, combining flash expertise with HDD leadership to provide a broader range of storage solutions.

Morgan Stanley backs Sandisk at $1,750 target after 18% drop wipes $36B

Sandisk shares fell about 18% over two sessions on October 29 and 30, 2026, erasing roughly $36 billion in market value. The drop followed a record fiscal first quarter, with revenue of $11 billion, up 378% from a year earlier. Chief financial officer Luis Visoso said premium and mainstream devices held up, "partially offset by contraction at the lower end." Sales volume in its Edge unit, which sells flash memory to phone and PC makers, fell 20% from a year earlier. Morgan Stanley kept its Overweight rating and $1,750 price target, betting data center demand will offset weaker consumer sales. Consumer and client products fell to 56% of revenue from 90% a year earlier. Sandisk's 8-for-1 stock split takes effect November 20.

Sandisk could hit $3,403 in a year as revenue soars 378% to $11.03B

Sandisk (NASDAQ:SNDK) shares fell over 13% the day after the company reported fiscal 2027 first-quarter results, as a broader tech sell-off hit AI stocks. The results were strong: revenue rose 378% year over year to $11.03 billion, and non-GAAP earnings per share reached $49.51, up from $1.22. Both figures beat Wall Street's expectations. Sandisk guided for second-quarter revenue of $12.4 billion and earnings per share of $56.00, above analyst estimates of $12.29 billion and $54.69. The stock trades at about 9 times earnings, against 23 for the S&P 500. The median analyst price target of $2,167 implies 88% gains. If Sandisk reaches the consensus fiscal 2027 earnings per share of $226.85 and trades at 15 times earnings, the author says its price could hit $3,403.

Sandisk consumer sales fall 29% to $397M as higher prices drive shoppers away

Sandisk's consumer sales are sliding as the company raises prices and shifts supply to data centres. Consumer revenue fell 29% from the prior quarter to $397 million, and 39% from a year earlier, according to its fiscal first-quarter results. Chief Financial Officer Luis Visoso said the drop came as the market adjusts to higher pricing. A year ago, consumer made up about 28% of revenue; it now accounts for less than 4%. Data-centre revenue jumped 61% from the prior quarter to $4.8 billion. Long-term contracts now cover about half of fiscal 2027 output. Sandisk guided second-quarter revenue of $12.2 billion to $12.6 billion. Its shares fell on October 30 despite an earnings beat.

SanDisk shares fall 11% as Kioxia flags NAND price slowdown despite $11.03B revenue

SanDisk shares fell more than 11% after rival Kioxia warned that the surge in NAND flash memory prices may be ending. Weak Intel guidance and broader worries about the AI trade also weighed on the stock. Tokyo-based Kioxia expects an operating profit of JPY 2T ($12.7 billion) this quarter, below analyst estimates of JPY 2.35T. Its average NAND selling price rose in the mid-20% range in the three months to September, down from a 70% rise the previous quarter. Yesterday, SanDisk beat Wall Street expectations with September-quarter revenue of $11.03 billion, up 378% year-on-year and 23% from the prior quarter. Adjusted earnings per share were $49.51, above its guidance of $44.00 to $46.00.
