Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
  • Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and enter month-end journal entries.
  • Extract data for analysis and interpretation and review material account variances.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of periodic, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables.
  • Prepare reports for management and other departments using report-writing capabilities.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis across disciplines, projects, and functional areas, and independently structure and execute analyses.
  • Analyze and monitor financial data, trends, and indicators.
  • Develop an understanding of business processes, goals, and strategy to provide analysis and interpretation to management.
  • Conduct research on identified key business issues and perform additional ad hoc reporting and duties as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining advanced Excel spreadsheets for various applications.
  • Oversee, mentor, and assist lower-level accountants.
  • Define and document policies and procedures to meet established accounting and company standards.
  • Work with existing data resources and develop or refine those resources to improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
  • Support monthly and year-end close processes by preparing complex journal entries and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for UHealth operations.
  • Collaborate with clinical and other departments to analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls and process improvements to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
  • Participate in preparing UHealth financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with university policies and healthcare accounting standards.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes and provide financial analysis and support for special projects, including cost reports, reimbursement analysis, and operational reviews.
  • Support the UHealth Accounting department during external and internal audits and reviews.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
