About the job

Requirements
  • Proven hands-on experience delivering technology programs for banks, preferably involving core banking, retail banking, commercial banking, cards, payments, lending, deposits, origination, servicing, or digital channels integrated with core platforms.
  • Hands-on delivery experience with banking platforms, production implementations, platform migrations, system integrations, major releases, cutovers, modernization programs, scaled Agile delivery, sprint execution, backlog management, release planning, dependency management, delivery governance, integration, APIs, batch/file processing, data migration, reconciliation, test data, environment readiness, defect triage, vendor-led delivery, or banking delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Sufficient architecture and technology fluency to challenge plans, identify gaps, pressure-test feasibility, and translate designs into executable delivery.
  • Ability to bridge business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, vendors, and executive stakeholders while keeping delivery outcomes central.
  • Ability to operate in high-pressure delivery environments with compressed timelines, ambiguous scope, multiple vendors, senior visibility, and meaningful production impact.
  • Seven to twelve or more years of technology delivery experience, including at least three years leading complex banking technology delivery workstreams or programs.
  • Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery across design, build, test, integration, data, release, cutover, go-live, and hypercare, rather than only supporting status reporting or governance.
  • Strong track record driving workstreams to measurable outcomes in banking environments, including stakeholder, dependency, vendor, and production-readiness management.
  • Experience contributing to business development and engagement management through delivery shaping, staffing assumptions, risk identification, and execution plans.
  • Experience using Agile delivery, DevOps, release management, and modern delivery models where Agile ceremonies are tied to delivery outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one banking domain, such as lending, deposits, origination, servicing, cards, payments, retail banking, commercial banking, or digital channels.
  • Experience with large-scale transformation programs involving multiple vendors, systems integrators, internal technology teams, business owners, risk/compliance stakeholders, and production-readiness gates.
  • Experience with core banking vendor or platform ecosystems such as Temenos, Finastra, FIS, Fiserv, HPS/PowerCARD, nCino, Mambu, or Thought Machine.
  • Experience in retail banking transformation, lending modernization, card migration, customer onboarding/origination transformation, servicing modernization, payments modernization, or digital channel implementation.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of core banking technology workstreams, with accountability for execution outcomes, milestones, risks, dependencies, quality, and production readiness.
  • Drive execution across core banking and adjacent platform initiatives, including lending, deposits, origination, servicing, payments, cards, digital banking, integration, data migration, testing automation, vendor delivery, and production implementation.
  • Coordinate product, engineering, architecture, testing, data, operations, vendor, and client teams; hold them accountable for deliverables, decision dates, defect closure, readiness criteria, and release outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve functional, technical, integration, data, testing, vendor, and operational-readiness blockers, providing clear options and decision paths.
  • Run daily execution huddles, sprint/release planning, dependency reviews, RAID management, defect triage, go/no-go readiness, executive escalation, and recovery planning.
  • Translate ambiguous client direction into executable delivery plans, sequencing, ownership, decision points, deliverables, and measurable progress.
  • Review plans, understand integration dependencies, challenge estimates, validate status, and ensure delivery progress is evidence-based.
  • Deliver at least one complex banking production implementation, modernization, migration, integration, or major release under tight timelines and executive visibility.
  • Integrate AI into day-to-day delivery while validating outputs, challenging assumptions, and maintaining accountability for quality.
  • Lead responsible and risk-aware AI use by exercising sound judgment about data use, confidentiality, and ethical considerations, reinforcing good practices, and escalating risks appropriately.
  • Use AI to accelerate analysis, scenario generation, and insight development while maintaining clear linkage to business outcomes.
  • Develop and share repeatable AI prompts, approaches, and tool usage that improve team productivity and consistency in existing data libraries/catalogues.
  • Apply architecture, integration, and data understanding to challenge whether solution designs are executable, testable, operable, and aligned to delivery timelines.
  • Ensure solution decisions are architecturally sound and delivery-ready, sequenced, dependency-managed, testable, supportable, and implementable in a controlled banking environment.
  • Drive architecture and design reviews toward decisions, trade-offs, and delivery actions.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and business owners to turn target-state direction into delivery slices, MVP scope, interim states, migration paths, release plans, and operational transition plans.
  • Assess delivery implications of APIs, batch/file integrations, data migration, test data, environments, identity/access, operational controls, resiliency, reconciliation, and banking regulatory expectations.
  • Act as a trusted delivery lead to client executives and program leaders, translating business priorities into executable technology outcomes and surfacing execution risks early.
  • Lead decision-oriented working sessions to clarify scope, ownership, dependencies, trade-offs, readiness gaps, and next actions.
  • Build credibility with business, technology, operations, vendor, and executive stakeholders through direct, fact-based, delivery-oriented, reliable work under pressure.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, risks, recommendations, and recovery actions through evidence-based status reporting and practical next steps.
  • Challenge unrealistic timelines, unclear scope, weak ownership, untested assumptions, and vendor commitments that create go-live risk.
  • Maintain senior stakeholder confidence while staying hands-on enough to assess whether work is progressing.
  • Support proposals, RFP responses, and solution design with delivery assumptions, staffing models, risks, dependencies, implementation paths, and go-live considerations.
  • Contribute practical delivery playbooks, reusable plans, readiness checklists, risk patterns, cutover approaches, testing approaches, and lessons learned to Banking Technology offerings.
  • Apply practical banking technology delivery insight to vendor-led implementation, agile-at-scale, systems integration, data migration, testing automation, production readiness, and operational stabilization.
  • Lead onshore, nearshore, offshore, client, and vendor team members with clear expectations, outcome ownership, and timely intervention when delivery is at risk.
  • Create a high-accountability delivery culture in which teams surface issues early, solve problems directly, and focus on measurable progress.
  • Coach teams on execution discipline, release readiness, client communication, defect management, dependency management, and delivery leadership under pressure.
  • Step into unstructured situations, create clarity quickly, and become a trusted delivery lead for senior stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using Agile delivery, DevOps, release management, and modern delivery models where Agile ceremonies are tied to delivery outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one banking domain, such as lending, deposits, origination, servicing, cards, payments, retail banking, commercial banking, or digital channels.
  • Experience with large-scale transformation programs involving multiple vendors, systems integrators, internal technology teams, business owners, risk/compliance stakeholders, and production-readiness gates.
  • Experience with core banking vendor or platform ecosystems such as Temenos, Finastra, FIS, Fiserv, HPS/PowerCARD, nCino, Mambu, or Thought Machine.
  • Experience in retail banking transformation, lending modernization, card migration, customer onboarding/origination transformation, servicing modernization, payments modernization, or digital channel implementation.

US oil producers hit record output as capital spending drops 49% and reserve replacement falls

An Ernst & Young study found US oil and gas producers reached record production in 2025 while becoming more selective with investments. The analysis of 30 major exploration and production companies, representing 43% of US oil and gas output, showed oil production hit a study-period high, yet reserve additions from extensions and discoveries declined 11% year over year and failed to fully replace production volumes for the first time since 2021. Total capital expenditures fell 49% year over year, whilst M&A spending declined 70%. Exploration spending dropped 11% to $4.8 billion, representing only 3% of total capital expenditures. EY commits $100M to bonuses rewarding human skills alongside AI adoption

Ernst & Young's US division is allocating $100 million this fiscal year to bonus payments rewarding employees who demonstrate adaptability, innovation, and judgement. Individual spot awards reach $500, whilst employees or teams making significant contributions can receive between $10,000 and $25,000, five times the previous programme's ceiling. The initiative also covers AI experimentation. "What we recognise signals what we value," said Ginnie Carlier, chief talent and culture officer for EY Americas. The bonuses form part of a broader strategy to reshape employee development across all career levels. Other professional services firms are pursuing similar approaches. KPMG restructured its audit internship this summer to emphasise critical thinking, whilst PwC US introduced training combining AI proficiency with human qualities like empathy. EY reported AI-related revenue grew 30% year-over-year in 2025.
